Many GF menu items, and staff seemed educated on cross-contamination measures. I ordered an omelette with fruit on the side, it was much higher quality than a typical breakfast joint. Delicious!
I am allergic to gluten. I told my waitress this and she then told me all the things I could have. French toast being one of them. It was really good! I can’t remember the last time I had French toast! I had no reaction and I am very sensitive! They do have a note on the menu about the possibility’s of cross contamination.
Waiter was very helpful and explained that they only have one toaster and one griddle for all gluten free items. Bread is Udi’s so I ordered that and made a jelly sandwich for my son and didn’t have it toasted to go along with his eggs. I had an omelet and fruit and all was safe. I wouldn’t chance the cross contamination with their GF items on the stove top or toaster.
Love their gluten free pancakes and French toast!!!
Be diligent about asking about cross contamination. They do not have a dedicated waffle maker.
many different options and the staff is actually knowledgeable about it! The pancakes were good too, rare to find!
I love the food and the menu. However, every single time I go and eat there I have a bad reaction. There must be serious cross-contamination happening in their kitchen.
I enjoyed the gluten free french toast. Service was top.
Every time I eat here no matter what location I have a bad reaction. I do think there is some serious cross contamination. Will never try to eat at any location again!
Love Toast!!! They have gf breakfast items like pancakes, French toast, stuffed French toast, gf bread and are flexible for substitutions for any sandwiches, benedicts etc.. My FAVORITE BREAKFAST PLACE EVER!!!
First time we went we had awesome service and they even had gluten free waffles. Second and last time we went we were glutened and not just a little bit, I’m fairly certain our waitress gave us a regular waffle making my daughter sick for months. This is the worst we’d been sick in years so it was definitely not just cross contamination.
The gluten free pancakes were delicious! The menu says they don’t have separate preparation and cooking areas. We did talk to the manager, James, and he said that he can’t guarantee there is no cross contamination, but that he and his team do clean, change gloves and take precautions. Because of that (which is the norm for many restaurants) I’m not saying it’s celiac friendly, but they do try. And they are very upfront about that.
The manager has food allergies so he is very serious about taking care of those with needs like ours. most everything on their menu can be made GF. I have only eaten breakfast. it was great. Not my favorite pancakes, but still good. great staff too!
Terrible terrible experience. NOT SAFE AT ALL. Ordered a breakfast sandwich on gluten free bread without cheese. Clearly came out with the wrong bread and cheese on it. Took 20 minutes to re-make so everyone else was done by the time I got my food. Reassured it was gluten free. Took one bite and knew right away it was not gluten free. Asked again and guess what? It wasn’t. The kitchen is clueless and now I get to be sick for days.
I ate here for breakfast. Yes, this restaurant had gluten free breakfast options- gluten free French toast, white/multigrain and cinnamon raisin toast and pancakes. While this is more than most, I was disappointed and frustrated because the French toast and pancakes both contained dairy in the batter. The breakfast potatoes were covered in butter. As I know a lot of people with gluten issues have dairy issues too, I wanted to mention this. Also, the restaurant felt like a chain. It was very plain and cheap feeling. Not a great cozy breakfast/brunch spot. However, they did have gluten free options for breakfast.
The food was great! They do warn on the menu that there aren’t separate surfaces/spaces for GF prep. I can usually handle a bit of cross-contamination, but if you can’t - might be safer to skip it though you’ll be missing out on some awesome food. AND on Thursdays & Friday’s they offer free mimosas!!
Famous Toastery became a favorite of mine as soon as I found out they had gluten free french toast. It’s not out of this world or anything but it is good and a good place to go for Sunday brunch especially since they have a dedicated kitchen space for GF orders and take allergies seriously! They have GF pancakes, wraps and bread for sandwiches.
Food was tasty. Kids had GF Pancakes and French Toast and I had an omelette. MIL had a GF breakfast wrap and enjoyed it too. **BE AWARE, according to staff and menu, they DO NOT have separate prep areas or equipment for GF.** Their GF waffles and toast are prepared with shared equipment. I was able to request a clean pan for our GF items but you MUST specify or they will use the shared flat top. I opted to not chance the toast and as I am very sensitive to CC, and I asked them to be extremely cautious. So far, so good... fingers are crossed as we are on a 15 hour drive back home now.
This place is Awesome!!! So many gluten free options. The strawberry and cream cheese french toast is amazing!!! The OJ is fresh squeezed and for those that don’t order this you would be missing out. It is absolutely delish!!!! I am sure everything is awesome so you really can’t go wrong. They even have organic ketchup and pure maple syrup!!!! Coffee is well above average and service is top notch!
This place is so awesome, I’m still sitting here eating while I review it. My husband and I got a omelette to split, it came with gf toast and potatoes and we ordered a gf pancake on the side. It came out on two plates, we each got a little omelette, a piece of toast, and potatoes with a huge pancake on the side. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 what is this life?!?
Lots of GF options, but NO dedicated space or prep items. They offer GF waffles with no dedicated waffle iron and GF toast with no dedicated toaster. I had banana nut pancakes giving close instruction and had no trouble. Felt good and the food was great. On the flip side, the gluten eaters I went with were not pleased. Coffee was terrible, potatoes were old, omelets were cold, and toast wasn't toasted. At least I got good GF pancakes though! Lol
Whoever said this was celiac friendly had a vastly different experience than us. The condiments were sketchy. They asked my celiac husband to avoid grilled foods. We ended up with (great) pancakes but no syrup. The food was good, but we are leaving with some anxiety!
Locally owned. Staff was very knowledgeable of celiac disease. My daughter has celiac and had a pancake and a gluten-free piece of cake no reaction she is very sensitive!
The store just opened, so this may change quickly. The wait was very long. The staff was friendly. The food mediocre- they did have fruit pancakes which is nice, but they gave me a reaction- so not recommended for celiac or high sensitivity. My husband ordered the hash and eggs, after being sent back once for being undercooked (eggs were clear), it came back only slightly better. He was starving so he tried to eat it - he said it was flavorless.
GF pancakes were okay--I've been spoiled by the Pancake House in Virginia Beach! Decaf coffee was bland and tasted almost watered-down, and the sausage patties were also surprisingly bland. Good service and atmosphere, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his breakfast.
