Tonight my family and I said goodbye to Burro Loco after 20+ years of traditionally coming here on our winter Family vacation. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2010 and we were able to continue to make this one of our stops every year with no problems until last year. They have now discontinued their GF menu. I am so sad that in 2017 I am not getting clear answers as to what they have GF. I can make do ...but if something doesn’t change ...we will give up this tradition since my daughter had to go gluten free also this year due to her health. I will check back with them and hopefully can return.
Ate here a year ago and they had a ton of options. Came back in 2017 and GF menu is gone and they only have a few options. They were able to work with me but very limited options.
No gluten free menu or dedicated fryer. Not celiac friendly.
Just got done eating here. I asked the hostess for a GF menu and I was told it was being rewritten and not available. However, the manager kindly came to the table to advise me on what I could eat. I was told the available GF menu consisted of either chicken or shrimp fajitas served with iceberg lettuce wrap and side order of black beans. That was the extent of the GF menu. The chicken breast for the fajitas tasted like it had absolutely no seasonings whatsoever. The onions and green peppers looked boiled and were swimming in water on the plate. It was the worst fajita plate I have ever eaten. My husband doesn't need to eat GF, so he ordered the carnitas and left half of it on the plate. He says they were not worth packing. On the positive side the service we received was top notch.
My first Mexican restaurant excursion since celiac diagnosis over a year ago...I was very nervous, as Mexican restaurants are typically floating with flours and hidden gluten. As other reviewers have said, you have to overcommunicate your allergy to your server; she didn't know what was gluten free and what wasn't, but after taking my order and asking the chef, she informed me that my order was not and helped me choose something else. The meats are marinated in not gfree sauces. The chips are safe. Delicious and no sickness!
chicken fajitas were quite good , server was cautious about gluten allergy and made me feel confident about my order. I'm sure i will go here again!
Great authentic Mexican food. Awesome guacamole and chips are fried in designated fryer. Corn tortillas also made separate. Fajitas were awesome!!! Be sure to let them know your gluten free the waitstaff is a bit under trained so be vocal. But worth it. Goods amazing
