They were super accommodating and were willing to cook my food separately in the back and even get my items from the back instead of the buffet to prevent cross contamination, but unfortunately I somehow got glutened. Not 100% sure how - even wondering if it was somehow from my glass of Coca-Cola or something? But unfortunately wouldn’t return because something somehow had some gluten.
A good variety of choices… several gluten free sauces and they cooked my food in a clean pan in the back not the main grill to avoid contamination. It is make your own bowls but the gluten items are pretty much groups together so I was able to make a few choices. I loved their sweet chili sauce.
Had a good dinner here. Service was a little slow. They were understaffed but still good. Food was excellent. Mongolian bowl style but I’m asymptotic so I’ll neverknow but if you can handle these types of places go for it. They cooked both my bowls in the back which made me a whole lot more comfortable. 2 sauces were clearly marked gluten free. Glad I went.
Very knowledgeable staff. Rosa the hostess understood my condition and reassured me that they had gluten free options and a dedicated cooking area in the back to prevent cross contamination. She was extremely helpful and would highly recommend if in the Tahoe area. Great food and excellent survive and vibe.
called in advance to ask about protocols. was told they have a list of allergens for each item, and they can provide that to me as well as getting items from the back so that they are not contaminated by the buffett. also told me they will cook my food separately.
when i arrived that couldn’t have been further from the truth. no server seemed to be able to help me, and just pointed in the direction of a gentleman with a fancy apron who was probably kitchen manager. not sure if there was a language barrier or what, but when i told him i have a gluten allergy he said “gluten… that is egg, right?”. i was immediately off put and should have known then it wasn’t safe to eat there. he asked what specific buffet items i wanted to know were gluten free. obvious items like the raw vegetables i knew were fine, so i specified the sauces and the marinades for some of the meats, etc. nobody could provide me a list of the allergens or tell me what was in the marinade. he just advised me to get the unseasoned meats and handed me a card that denoted my allergen for when my meal was ready to be cooked. i gathered what i could (from the buffet) and they took my plate to the back to be cooked. the food came out over cooked, soggy, and flavorless (probably because there was a total of two gluten free sauces). on top of that, i got sick
My family went here for a birthday celebration. This is a unique place-a buffet where you choose your food and then bring it to a huge “wok” where it gets cooked. After reading reviews, I figured all I’d be able to have would be a salad with oil and vinegar. After we were seated, I told the hostess that I had a gluten allergy . She honestly said they weren’t many choices, but that I would be able to find something. She then passed on to our server that I had a gluten allergy. The procedure is you get a ticket marked with your allergy, get a stainless steel bowl, and you choose the foods that you want cooked. There were actually quite a few choices-unmarinated chicken and steak which were on the top row so that they didn’t get contaminated by the marinated meats below them. Each item had its own serving utensil. There was also a whole section of fish that wasn’t marinated-shrimp, cod, salmon, oysters. Plenty of vegetables. There were only a couple sauces that were gluten-free, but they were clearly marked. There were also several sauces that were free of many allergens. The gf peach bourbon barbecue sauce was soo good! Once I had chosen my food, I handed it and my ticket to a person at the wok, and they took it into a separate space in the kitchen to cook, instead of taking a chance it would be contaminated by other foods that were cooking. It was then delivered to my table with my allergy ticket, and they checked to make sure I was the right person. Every staff member I spoke to was aware of the protocol and were very helpful. My server offered to bring me white rice which was perfect. I had a delicious meal and a great time with my family. Best part was I didn’t get sick. I was so surprised I was able to have a great meal, plus a yummy blood orange margarita. I felt very safe and would definitely go back
Told them I had a gluten intolerance and they gave me a card for my food to be cooked in the back. They claimed everything is marked but it really wasn’t. She told me I couldn’t have the fried rice but could have the rice noodles. I saw the worker filling it back up after touching the other things and she packed it in with her gloved hands so I would be worried for those who can’t have cross contamination. Was a little overwhelming for me.
Staff was very knowledgeable, my food was cooked separately in the back and everything was labeled.
