Part of this is on me. I was the first there and was getting sandwiches for me and family. asked for Gluten free bread cause I didn't want cross contamination and I ordered both regular and gf subs at the same time. Didn't realize until they were about done she was making them at the same time with no glove swap. These companies really need some allergy education.
I asked if they had a gluten free menu or knew what was gluten free. The lady said no I said I'll see if there's one online but first asked about there process for going gluten free sandwiches etc. asked about changing gloves, they seemed annoyed but said yes. They said they wouldn't use ingredients from back or clean anything. They got annoyed I was asking. Kind of rude as well. And they pointed out that the small print on the sign says like gluten free is made in same area and stuff.
I ordered a medium turkey bacon club on a gf roll. The roll was very soft and a good size. The sandwich was warm and tasted great. My husband ordered a large Firehouse hero with a gf roll too and since it was a large, they put it on 2 rolls. We were very impressed and pleasantly surprised.
The online allergen menu is the best I've seen making it super easy for me to order. The gluten free bun was soft and didn't crumble and fall apart. They changed gloves and used all clean knives and work space. Cross contamination could still happen as it is not a dedicated gf facility, but they took extra precautions.
