I’m leaving one star because I can’t leave zero. I go to a First Watch in my neighborhood all the time and never have an issue but I placed an online order at this McKinney location because I am traveling. I went in to pick my order up and the allergy box was not checked on the bag tag so I asked if precautions were taken and the hostess replied, “ it should be fine.” When I told her should be is not good enough as I have an allergy, she then asked the cashier to look into it. He took her to the back -I could see him the whole time and he put a new sticker on it came to the front and told me everything was “just fine - you should be good.” I told both of them that should be is not good enough when you have celiac. I know I take a risk when I eat out, however, this is completely unacceptable!
I tested with my Nima and it showed gluten present. Surprise surprise. The manger, David, did refund and remake it (I’m sharing with hubs so at least he can eat). I have zero confidence but appreciate the managers attempt.

Although not noted on the menu, many of the items can be made gluten free. They also have Udi's. I have been Celiac for 20 years and have not had any issues at this establishments location.

To start off, I have been to First Watch many times with and without my family (who eat gluten-free), and every single time the staff has been accommodating and very friendly.
They have plenty of gluten-free breakfast options with foods that are inherently gluten-free (eggs, bacon, fruit, etc.). You can substitute any bread on the menu for gluten-free bread, including the french toast! They always ask if you have a gluten allergy to make sure the kitchen accommodates you.

I am bummed. Food was delicious but my stomach is paying bad. I told the server I was extremely allergic to gluten and she seemed understanding. I shouldn't have came here. ☹ it's things like this that make me never feel safe eating out. I know there is a warning with it being a chain but at other locations I haven't had a problem.

My daughter has Celiac and I’m gf. They prepare allergy meals in a separate area of the kitchen. She ordered gf French toast and it came out seperately and marked. Our server was very knowledgeable, but others there were not. It has now been a couple of hours since we went and my daughter and I both feel good with no signs of being glutened.

They are very considerate when I order gluten free bread for toast and inform them of my allergies. I'm sure other locations might be less kind but this one is great.
Cross contact is possible I'm sure, but I believe they car enough to make some effort

Decent brunch food. Whenever I mention gluten free they know what I'm talking about and seem to be careful. I feel a bit rushed though, they usually give us the check before we're halfway done with the food.
