I eat at five guys constantly as they are always careful with my allergy. For the first time ever at a five guys I got glutened at this one. I didn’t eat the mayonnaise cause it had obviously been scooped out of a container that had gluten in it and put into a ramekin. I guess the other condiments were also cross contaminated as I became very sick. They might be good sometimes but this crew did not take it seriously.
I eat at Five Guys often but this was my first time at this location. I had a cheeseburger on a lettuce wrap (no bun) and fries. Their fries are GF because they don't fry anything else beside fries. Be sure to tell them that you have a gluten allergy. I did not have a negative reaction. I would eat there again.
Are there last night. Took my allergy seriously. The cashier (who I think was also the manager) made sure the cooks knew to change gloves. He even moved my foil bowl to the fry table until the patty was ready. He knew what celiac disease was and how to keep me safe. Very impressed! Eat here with ease.
We had dinner there with no complications. The manager went to the grill and helped prepare the gf burger specifically asking all staff to change gloves. Did not get condiments on burger but they can give you packets. We asked for the gf meal to be bagged separately. No problem. They were really nice to work with us. No bun but you can take a gf bun with you.
I have celiac disease so I am always super cautious about where I eat out. I have to been to several 5 Guys before and I haven’t had any problems and this one was no different. No bun but I am fine with that. You tell them when you are ordering you have celiac or you are gf and they change their gloves and are very careful with your food
My husband has celiac disease and when we ordered they immediately notified the staff that he had it. One cook said they'd handle our order, we watched her change her gloves and take every precaution not to cross contaminate. I would definitely recommend 5 guys. They take celiac serious. My husband didn't get sick at all.
The staff said they routinely get customers with celiac disease and they know what to do regarding changing gloves, etc. The burgers can be served without a bun in a bowl or lettuce wrap and the fries are safe because they don’t cook anything but fries in the fryer. We ate there twice during our week in Pigeon Forge and had no problems.
Fries and burgers were gluten free. However, the toppings were highly processed and the fries were really greasy. This might be in some people's liking but I am a health nut and frankly, prefer all organic foods.
they didn't even know what gluten free was. no gluten free buns or fries
90% of the time we have no problems but we do have to explain and watch. They have laid the lettuce to wrap the burgers on the prep area where there were bread crumbs. Dedicated fryer and it's one of only 2 places in the area that have a dedicated fryer. Expensive though when you have a teenage boy who wants 2 cheeseburgers and fries!
Staff was very careful not to contaminate food. Fries cooked separately from burgers.
Staff didn't have a clue about gluten free!!! They were also rude when you questioned them about it!
Meat and buns cooked on different grills. Fries are gluten free and staff was very knowledgable about celiac. Great food too!
I have never had an issue with a 5 Guys until today. Thankfully I caught it. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger bowl. They put my fries in with my son’s meal and the mayo had bread crumbs in it. I told them I had celiacs and they put those notes in. I know it’s a chain and a toss up. But be careful with eating here.
**1/28/25- The district manager called and profusely apologized for the incident and has vowed to make it right. He will be speaking to his staff and fixing any of these issues and takes allegro seriously.
Not up to par with other five guys allergen protocols. Witnessed people making burgers and hot dogs having touched bread then placed their hands in raw fries and spread gluten. Very sad. Glad I was watching them make my order. Five guys typically has a dedicated fry person but not here.
