They took great care of me and were extra safe with my order. Changed gloves, pulled new toppings from the fridge, and put my lettuce burger in a separate bag. Just be sure you let them know you have an “allergy” and that it’s listed as an allergy on the receipt!

I watched and saw the worker making sandwiches grab fries with the same gloves and put them in the “gluten free” oil - not any more.

Celiac friendly?

No

They do a pretty good job. If you tell them that you have a gluten allergy they will change their gloves and give you a burger in a bowl or a lettuce wrapped burger. Fries are gluten free. Just pay attention and make sure they change the gloves, as I'm not sure if they've done that every time we've been here. We are not a celiac family, so I can't speak confidently as to whether they are celiac friendly or not.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it. I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.

If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.

The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
