NO GF PANCAKES as it says they have - only a gf waffle - wanted pancakes
Very rude waitress. And they have NO options if you are gluten free and dairy free
Beat GF pancakes ever! I also created my own skillet combo too, but the potatoes are done in a shared fryer. I’m sensitive, not Celiac. Waitress was very knowledgeable about GF and let me know about the potatoes, I didn’t even have to ask her.
The only gluten free options for celiac or sensitivity/allergy is a plain gf waffle, eggs, and fruit. Not bad, but not great. The waffle was very bitter and dry. I did not get extremely sick, i did experience some symptoms.
Was told that they do have a dedicated iron for their GF waffles, but not a separate griddle or area of the griddle for the GF pancakes. My gluten-sensitive (not celiac) friend had the Gluten-Sensitive Breakfast (a GF waffle, eggs, & fruit) and was ok. They did clean a separate area of the griddle to make her eggs (the eggs are cooked in bacon grease, which she can’t have), which was very nice. Due to the high risk of cross-contamination (I was advised that since they work with so much flour, they can’t guarantee that anything would be safe for celiacs), I decided not to eat. The people in my group said the food was great, though!
Got the sticky bun GF pancakes. Really good and had no reaction
Our waitress was very sweet and helpful when it came to my questions. The pancakes were okay-not the best gluten free ones I’ve ever had. I ate everything fin without getting sick though.
The sticky bun GF pancakes were delicious and did not give me a gluten reaction! (Gluten allergy not celiac)
You can get any pancake or waffle on their menu gluten free. Got the sticky bun pancakes and it was amazing. It was like 2 of my favorite things that I never get to eat anymore. So. Good.
The pancakes were really dry and had no flavor of their own. They might be fine if you add all of the sweets that they have on the menu to them, but I don’t care for overly sweet breakfasts. The server didn’t ask me about cross-contamination concerns. The website is explicit that they have cross-contamination, but it’s not on the menu.
I thought this one was one of the better places that served GF waffles. Sausage was also delicious. We went 2 days in a row!
This place is horrible. The wait staff was miserable. They totally didn’t want to be there. My gluten free waffle was ice cold, as was the bacon. I’m already feeling horrible and we left less than 10 minutes ago.
The staff is very knowledgeable and warns you right away that there is cross contamination. The waitress did assure me the grill would be scraped before my pancakes were cooked and warmed me away from the waffles because the waffle iron is a bigger risk. I had pancakes and did not get sick at all. They were light and fluffy and delicious!
The staff knew about Celia and had several GF options available. We were there early in the morning so I didn’t worry so much about cross contamination. But that could be a concern for those really sensitive. Their GF waffle was really yummy and such a treat!
Haven't eaten out for breakfast since being diagnosed with celiac. Spoke to manager and he was super friendly and said that they use a seperate area. I should have asked if it was a dedicated space or a cleaned space. Still eating so not sure if reactions or not. Pancakes are thin, but they tasted good. I'm not sure it's safe. I didn't get sick but I'm not sure id risk it again before my flight.
NOT FOR CELIACS :( They have gluten-sensitive pancakes but they make it very clear that there is cross-contamination. I imagine that warning extends to all food. My sister has celiac, I would advise her to steer clear. For those that are just sensitive to gluten, like myself, they have a variety of pancake, skillet, and breakfast platter/omelette options.
Waiter was honest and said nothing was really gluten free there because of all the flour used in the back and said they do not have a designated area. I took a chance because there wasn’t many more options and I ordered pancakes they were horrible the worst ones I’ve ever had they honestly tasted like cardboard! First and last time eating there would not even have gave it a star but had to.
my wife and I went here this morning waited a long time at the table before being greeted by the server. they were not informed at all simply said yes I think we have gluten free pancakes to which I asked about everything else. she brought us an allergy sheet but there was only 2 things on the menu with wheat. we left without ordering the only reason I gave it one star is because I had to pick one
I couldn’t eat any of the gluten free pancake or waffle options because the kitchen staff said they couldn’t clean the area to cook for my order since they were too busy. They also use the same waffle iron to make gf waffles as regular waffles. There are other non-flour based menu items. The waitress offered me wheat or rye toast as an alternative to not getting gf pancakes. Also, the home fries are cooked in a shared fryer with gluten items such as fried chicken and fritters per the waitress.
Stopped at Flapjacks for breakfast on our way home from Dollywood. It was so great to be able to order pancakes or waffles.... especially after a couple of days at Dollywood where they did have some gluten free options, but I found the selection to be somewhat slim. Flapjacks also had turkey bacon or sausage.
Pancakes and waffles gf. Had chocolate chip pancakes - delicious and filling! I even had leftovers! Server knew enough to discourage anything but gf waffles/pancakes due to possible cross-contamination. Family of 4 ate under $50.
Didn't even go after calling and asking about GF options. The woman who answered the phone Was rude! Basically the only gf option is pancakes and she said they were prepared on the same griddle as the rest of the food...HELLO THAT MEANS IT'S NO LONGER GF!
One of the reasons many may be getting sick at this place when having a gluten free waffle or pancake is the fact that the syrup is NOT gluten free. I had my server check. This is ridiculous. I have already contacted Collier Restaurant Group (the owner of Flapjacks) regarding this. I'm hoping they will take it seriously. I would gladly pay an up charge for real maple syrup. This is unacceptable - it's like peanut butter without jelly, Cheerios without milk! I gotta have syrup on my pancake or waffle! So disappointed I couldn't have a waffle. Let this be a warning to everyone to inquire about the syrup!
Tried eating at Knoxville location. Clueless about celiac. We even called in advance and received assurance that they could handle gluten allergies. On arrival, the server said they had gluten-free batter, but no dedicated cooking space or utensils. The kitchen manager arranged to clean off a grill and delivered GF pancakes and scrambled eggs - both were inedible. They really have no business advertising GF and certainly aren't celiac or allergy safe. (0 stars actaully.)
I was so disappointed in the gf pancakes at Flapjack's in Sevierville. I was so excited to try them, but they were incredibly dense. So much so, that I couldn't eat them. 😣 Had an omelette with them, and it was fair. Not planning to go back and they had poor customer service too. Such a shame, because we are over that way several times throughout the year.
Not safe for celiac or allergy! No dedicated cooking space. Waffle iron is used to make both gluten filled and gluten free waffles. Server was not knowledgable. Do NOT recommend for celiac or gluten allergy. I have severe upper respiratory breathing issues when glutened. Do not risk this.
We stopped for some breakfast. Past reviews didn't seem promising, however I found this location was good! Our waitress was celiac herself and gladly worked with me. Pancakes were just so-so but the breakfast skillet was awesome and no reaction at all!
Horrible! This restaurant is definitely NOT gluten free. We ordered off of the GF menu and made it very clear to our server. Within 20 minutes, I knew for a fact that we had been "glutened." Please, if you are gluten sensitive, avoid this restaurant. The only good thing about this experience was our server. She was nice and attentive.
It is always a tradition to always eat at Flapjack's during our trips to the Great Smoky Mountains. Since going gluten free this past year, I was planning to order their omelet. I was floored when I learned they have gluten free pancakes and waffles and let me say they were awesome along with the vegan omelet. The staff is super friendly. Flapjack's has three locations: Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville. Enjoy:-)
