My husband and I went here for breakfast on a Thursday around 9 am. We were seated immediately. This is a great place for families with a fireplace in the middle creating a cozy ambiance. We discovered during our stay that Flapjacks is a chain with multiple locations in the area. My husband had the chocolate chip pancakes. I had bacon, eggs, and gluten free pancakes. This restaurant has gluten friendly waffles also. They do provide a chart with allergen information but gluten free is not noted on the menu. We thought the food was average for breakfast fare. My GF pancakes were huge and a little bit dry but still tasty. I also requested my bacon crispy but it came out chewy. Still, overall a hearty meal and the service was good!

They were able to make any of their pancakes gluten free and the waiter was knowledgeable about what else was gluten free on the menu. That being said, I got eggs and blueberry pancakes. The eggs were dry and the pancakes were just okay. I asked for maple syrup and he said he wasn't sure if they had that, which I thought was weird, but he did bring it out. It's been a few hours and I feel fine, I knew I was taking a risk being CC, but I told him I had celiac and I would appreciate it if they were extra careful.

Disclaimer: To those of you that are hyper sensitive to cross contamination this place is not for you.

There was a little bit of a wait but it was worth it! Soon after we were seated the waitress brought over a skillet with their fritters (on the house)— to which my fiancé and I both contemplated whether we should accept them as I told her that my fiancé couldn’t have them because of the gluten. She apologized and said she’d also bring out an order of their candied bacon and explained what was on it. (VERY DELICIOUS! Yes I had one…)

They made sure to serve his GF pancakes first. My fiancé says “They were huge! It wasn’t like regular gluten free foods which are tiny in comparison. They were even bigger than the regular pancakes.”

Overall they were accommodating, the staff was very friendly and the food was yummy! I am posting this 8 hours after eating and he is alive and well! Would definitely recommend and come again.

I was not impressed. Our server had no idea what gluten free was. Not safe, in my opinion.

Got sick from cross contaminated pancakes. Staff said they had gluten free pancakes and waffles. They use the same waffle maker as regular waffles but said they wipe it down as well as the griddle. Omelette was just ok. Hash browns were soggy

Gluten free options of majority of their menu is available on request at Sevierville location. They made my little one their bear pancakes gluten-free without any issue, and as a parent of a 4 year old that was HUGE to get the same thing his brother gets. GF pancakes were brought out separately from other food, which was difficult with a party of 10. All in all I can highly recommend this location, but I cannot speak to safe cooking practices as I am not in the kitchen supervising. Everything was smooth, and service was great!

I was so disappointed in the gf pancakes at Flapjack's in Sevierville. I was so excited to try them, but they were incredibly dense. So much so, that I couldn't eat them. 😣 Had an omelette with them, and it was fair. Not planning to go back and they had poor customer service too. Such a shame, because we are over that way several times throughout the year.

I have eaten GF pancakes twice and never had an issue. I returned this noon and Dave, the manager, personally made my cakes along with a waffle on the house. To die for. My tummy would be grinding by now if I had been glutened so I can highly recommend safely eating GF at Flapjacks. Relax and enjoy!

Overall not the best food. Pancakes were gritty (maybe frozen). Eggs and bacon didn’t have the best taste or were undercooked.

The gf pancakes and waffles are made on the same griddle and waffle iron as the regular pancakes and waffles. I did NOT order anything that was made on the regular griddle. I had grits, fried eggs, bacon, and hash browns. I was told those items are made on one grill & the pancakes are made on a different grill (including gf pancakes). I didn't get sick (Thank God), but I think it was pretty risky. Our server had no idea what gluten free was. She had to go get a manager. This lady was kind enough to remind me that real butter and pure maple syrup are gluten free. Duh...🙄 When my family ordered, the server kept saying, "So, you want the gluten waffle, and you want the gluten pancakes, right?" We kept having to remind her that we needed to be gluten FREE. We want gluten FREE items, and she was like, "Yeah, whatever it is." 1 out of 5 stars. Would not recommend. Not celiac safe.

I ate at the location in Gatlinburg, and let me tell you, this place is absolutely amazing. The best food that I’ve eaten in a long while. The waitress knew what celiac was, no need to explain. She warned me that they use the same grill, but ensured me that they would wipe it down before cooking my food on there. So delicious. Get the gluten free cinnamon swirl pancakes!!

This place is horrible. The wait staff was miserable. They totally didn’t want to be there. My gluten free waffle was ice cold, as was the bacon. I’m already feeling horrible and we left less than 10 minutes ago.

Didn't even go after calling and asking about GF options. The woman who answered the phone Was rude! Basically the only gf option is pancakes and she said they were prepared on the same griddle as the rest of the food...HELLO THAT MEANS IT'S NO LONGER GF!

One of the reasons many may be getting sick at this place when having a gluten free waffle or pancake is the fact that the syrup is NOT gluten free. I had my server check. This is ridiculous. I have already contacted Collier Restaurant Group (the owner of Flapjacks) regarding this. I'm hoping they will take it seriously. I would gladly pay an up charge for real maple syrup. This is unacceptable - it's like peanut butter without jelly, Cheerios without milk! I gotta have syrup on my pancake or waffle! So disappointed I couldn't have a waffle. Let this be a warning to everyone to inquire about the syrup!

Tried eating at Knoxville location. Clueless about celiac. We even called in advance and received assurance that they could handle gluten allergies. On arrival, the server said they had gluten-free batter, but no dedicated cooking space or utensils. The kitchen manager arranged to clean off a grill and delivered GF pancakes and scrambled eggs - both were inedible. They really have no business advertising GF and certainly aren't celiac or allergy safe. (0 stars actaully.)

Not safe for celiac or allergy! No dedicated cooking space. Waffle iron is used to make both gluten filled and gluten free waffles. Server was not knowledgable. Do NOT recommend for celiac or gluten allergy. I have severe upper respiratory breathing issues when glutened. Do not risk this.

Horrible! This restaurant is definitely NOT gluten free. We ordered off of the GF menu and made it very clear to our server. Within 20 minutes, I knew for a fact that we had been "glutened." Please, if you are gluten sensitive, avoid this restaurant. The only good thing about this experience was our server. She was nice and attentive.

It is always a tradition to always eat at Flapjack's during our trips to the Great Smoky Mountains. Since going gluten free this past year, I was planning to order their omelet. I was floored when I learned they have gluten free pancakes and waffles and let me say they were awesome along with the vegan omelet. The staff is super friendly. Flapjack's has three locations: Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville. Enjoy:-)

I’m happy with the options. I got mixed berry gluten free pancakes (so good) and the ham and cheese skillet (just okay). I’m gluten intolerant but I don’t think I’d eat here if I was a sensitive celiac. No specific gluten free menu. I’m gonna attach a photo of their allergen menu since I couldn’t find it online. :) If you screenshot it, you can zoom in more.

I ordered naturally GF food (the egg breakfast - scrambled egg, bacon, hash browns). Food was good but smaller portions than I expected. Not the best breakfast I've ever eaten but the good was acceptable. I mentioned that I could not have gluten at all and was assured it wouldn't be near anything with gluten but it was unclear if she actually marked my order as GF.

My family was really excited to try it this morning based on the reviews. We sat down and asked the server about gluten free options. Was told that the gluten free pancakes were gluten free batter but not made in a separate area/ pan. Glad we double checked before ordering. Super bummed :(
