Not sure how this place is getting good reviews from celiacs??
I was told that the pizzas are cooked on their own pan (which is great) but then they use the same prep areas and the same toppings from the regular pizzas. So my server told me they would for sure contaminate my pizza with the shared sauce and toppings. Too bad.
I discovered on Find My Gluten Free, ordered 5 different type of pizzas for all my family even if some of them are « gluten free » and everybody enjoyed the flavours and felt great after.
Only negative is I’m a Glouton so I ate a lot and had to nap on the beach 😂😂
Also, we have left overs so I might have to do another nap tomorrow but I’m ready for it!
On our first night in Hollywood Beach we came here for dinner. They had gluten free pastas and pizzas. My daughter and I split a pasta with a pink sauce, gluten free noodles and added grilled chicken and shrimp. It hit the spot! We also noticed they have gluten free pizzas and may go back for that tomorrow.
I want to first say that I am not very sensitive so I may not know about cross contamination. But I am celiac. We spoke to the owner or manager a few days before and he assured me they know about cross contamination because his wife has issues. I didn’t see him last night, but I ordered the pasta bolognese. He said they could do some of the dishes like chicken Marsala and not flour it but I decided to keep it simple. My husband, no issues, had a seafood pasta. The waiter assured me they know about cross contamination and asked me if ziti was ok. I would say the food was good and I felt fine afterwards. I was happy to be able to get a meal on the boardwalk walking distance from where we were staying.
Florio's is amazing. We ate here 3 times on our 6 night Hollywood vacation. Pizza and pasta were absolutely delicious (marinara pizza, which is on the online menu), was the best pizza I've had since going gluten free. I'm unsure of the safety measures taken but I didn't feel cross contamination. Staff is wonderful as well. Highly recommended!
