Large gluten free menu and the person taking our order knew right away when we said our son was Celiac. He made a note and said that they will use new gloves and space, our son is only three and shares our food so he added the note to all our meals.
I am also lactose free and there are lots of menu items that fit both which is amazing.
I think I got glutened here. I had the chicken enchilada bowl. So disappointing because one of the workers was really enthusiastic about it being safe to eat there as a celiac. Maybe it was a fluke thing or something unrelated… hard to tell! I would probably try it one more time, and not get the chicken enchiladas. If I do, I will come back and edit my review !
This was my 1st time here. The person taking my order was very knowledgeable about celiac. They have a really big GF menu. He said they can also make several other meals GF. I got the chicken enchiladas. They were delicious. He recommended next time I try the GF Mac and cheese. After read the reviews, I wish I had seen the chocolate chip cookie. I would have loved to try that.
Other non food related info:
I went on a Sunday night, the place was pretty empty. They will also validate your parking for 2 hours (which is real nice if you want to walk around the mall). The restaurant itself was really comfortable. The outdoor patio was wonderful.
This is one of our few go-to takeout places, although you can eat in also. My celiac daughter has never gotten sick. Mostly orders salads with chicken or tofu, bowls, always a side of the gf Mac and Cheese (which is small for the price but good!). We always add 10 mins to our takeout order pickup time.
Flower child is one of my go-to healthy restaurants! Most important info to know: they have THE BEST GF CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!! Do not skip dessert. You order at the register and they bring it to your table but the ambiance is so nice I think you could consider it for a fast casual or a nice sit-down meal. A ton of sides are GF, my favorite being the gluten free Mac n cheese and the chili glazed roasted sweet potatoes. The tofu and chicken protein options are both very bland and the tofu is soft, which is not my preference. I’d recommend going with salmon if you order an entree plate. The drinks are unique and tasty (I’m partial to the rose lemonade), and they offer alcoholic beverages if you’re in the mood for that!
I was pleasantly surprised with how many options that were able to be made gf. Speaking with the staff, they went above and beyond to explain how they would keep me safe and the fooddd options that were available to me.
The environment is darling! It is definitely a cute place for a weekend dine-in or date option.
This place is awesome!! They make all the gluten free food at a separate station and change their gloves and all that. The girl who took my order put celiac disease and allergy on my receipt and I saw her personal tell the chef that I had a gluten/dairy allergy. Also “celiac” was written on my takeout container. I felt super safe and am definitely going to go back!!
