We really enjoyed our meal! They did tell me before even seating us that their fryer is not dedicated, but there would be plenty of items I could have that are GF. The hostess told our server and he immediately mentioned that he knew I needed GF and they would take precautions to prevent cross contamination. I got the chicken enchiladas and they were delicious! I feel fine and am certain I didn’t get glutened. All around good experience!
Really respect the way they handled everything. We sat at the bar and I immediately asked about GF items. He said most of the menu would be at risk of cross-contamination, but he spoke to the chef and called out the enchiladas as being completely GF and safe. They were delicious. Drinks were great too. He also brought out corn tortillas since the chips were fried in the same fryer as non-GF items.
Four stars is mostly for the limited GF items, but what I did have was great and I felt safe based on how seriously they took questions and the diligence in checking things. Server wasnt pretending. If he didnt know he went and asked someone that would.
When I first arrived, I explained I had celiac and they told me almost everything was gluten free because it was made with corn. I asked about their fryer and cross contamination. They told me it was a separate fryer and everything was GF in it - the few things that had gluten were in a separate fryer.
After we ordered a bunch of stuff to share, the server came back and told me she was incorrect - that there is gluten in the fryer and it wasn’t separate. Instead, they brought out veggies and soft corn tortillas instead of chips.
Later, when I ordered the Mexican shrimp cocktail, it came out with the chips on the plate underneath and they told me just not to eat them, that the rest was gluten free. After a bit of a discussion and me explaining again the seriousness of celiac and cross contamination, they agreed to make me another one and did not bring chips out.
Overall, the food was good and I did not get sick, but not the best experience to feel they took celiac seriously.
