I’ve been twice and gotten the Detroit style GF pizza. The first time the staff instilled confidence that the kitchen prep surface was separate from non gf pizza prep, and gloves, knives, etc. changed. Had a great meal and leftovers, very filling, no reaction. Second time same order but the staff was more “it’s all one space and we can’t guarantee, etc.” Took the chance with a little uneasiness but the pizza was delicious and I had no reaction again.
Very good Detroit style pizza. The crust was thick and buttery-not dry or crumbly. One of the best gluten free pizza that I have ever had! Everything is clearly marked (meatballs were not GF). However the pizzas are on the same prepared surface so if you are sensitive to cross contamination, this is not a safe place to eat!
This place is so good!! I got the GF Detroit style pizza and I almost cried tears of joy. I haven't had a thick crust pizza since being GF and omg it's so delicious. My family tried it as well and they even said they couldn't really tell the difference. They staff was so friendly and knowledgeable about celiac disease. They take every precaution to prevent cross contamination that they can but they also warn it's not a 100% guarantee because they serve gluten containing products as well. I will certainly make this a regular spot when I need pizza!
I finally tried this place tonight and wish I’d done it sooner. It’s fantastic. They have vegan/dairy free options as well. The deep dish I had tasted just like I remember deep dish before I stopped eating gluten. It will definitely be a spot I return to frequently. Can’t wait to try the thin crust pizza.
I got the gluten free Detroit style. It was so delicious, I didn’t think I would ever have crust that wonderful. Unfortunately, I did get glutened. It was most certainly cross contamination, as I would have been in the hospital if I had eaten a gluten crust that thick and luscious. I would not eat there again but I say again, it was so good. Just be aware. We usually only eat out late in the week so that if I do get sick I have the weekend to recover. I also 100% understand this is a risk I take when eating out. I really do think that are knowledgeable and careful…but nothing is ever 100% in a restaurant that serves other gluten containing food.
Am planning to eat here for my birthday and called ahead to ask about their GF procedure. They were very friendly, explained how they prepare their GF pizza (separate pan for cooking, aware of cross contamination risks), explained there is corn meal in their house made GF crust but the thin crust is pre-made shipped in GF crust. They mentioned celiac safe without me having to ask. They also mentioned the meatball topping is the only one not GF. Excited to try it! Before celiac diagnosis I had their regular pizza, was very good.
Had the opportunity to go to Futuro Pizza while visiting Indianapolis. The GF Detroit style pizza was too good to pass up - and it did not disappoint. Delicious and perfectly cooked pizza with an excellent crust and crunch. Highly recommend for those who are gluten free and seeking a five star pizza. Very nice staff and plenty of seating inside and outdoors. Look forward to returning during a future visit. A picture of the GF pizza with sausage and ricotta is posted under the photos.
I have celiac and have gotten GF pizza 10+ times. They do a great job of protecting against cross contamination. They cook each pizza on a separate tray that and cut each pizza with a dedicated GF knife. They have recently started making in house GF crust that is pretty much the same as their Detroit style non-GF. Great local business!
