I have been here many times but mostly before my celiac diagnosis. The place is great, especially for bringing people from out of town to showcase downtown Rochester. They’ve got a nice gift shop and tasting room in addition to the restaurant. The rooftop view is spectacular too. Unfortunately, gluten free items are limited but I was super happy to find they added a cauliflower crust option for their pizza! It was delicious and I did not have any symptoms of gluten exposure afterwards.
Before I was diagnosed, I LOVED everything on the menu and their beer! I'm sad I cant havw their beer anymore, but can have their wings which were one of my favorites! Have to be careful about the sauce choice. They have added an allergy check list on their website and it's very descriptive and very helpful to plan your trip there.
Pretty limited non gluten non dairy. Chicken wings and a vegan burger were dairy and gluten free. They have a sheet that lists allergens in food which was a big help. There were other gluten free items but they had dairy and I don’t remember what they were. The server was very helpful.
Huge chance for cross contamination. Most dressings have beer in them. Most foods are infused with beer.
The only thing the server could guarantee to be gluten free is the salads. Except you can’t have Caesar, Greek or vinaigrette dressings. So you have 4 options for dressings for 5 different salads. And no shrimp either! Everything shares a fryer so no wings! Sausage platter is infused with beer!
I had to explain to the server what gluten was. At least he knows now!
The only positive is that they sell local cider and have a beautiful rooftop bar. The chef was behind the bar when I ordered and I asked if anything was gluten free. He joked and said "gluten free makes him cringe". I responded back "some people don't have a choice. I have to be gluten free for medical reasons". No response other than to not eat anything.
