So so so good! Worker changed her gloves and was very receptive to avoiding cross contamination. Cupcake was DELICIOUS!

I told them I had an allergy and they said it would be fine, but I got glutened. 3 stars because the cupcake was delicious and I should have read other reviews first that say they advise those with celiac not to eat there.

Direct from their website FAQ: “Since we bake with high volumes of wheat (gluten) flour and dairy products on our premises, we advise customers with gluten or dairy allergies to err on the side of caution and refrain from eating our cupcakes.” cc too much of an issue here.

Cupcake was tiny, mediocre and they didn’t seem to be very careful about CC when I went. Felt a little sick after. There are better/safer places to go.

Died and gone to heaven! Cupcakes amazing, they do one gf special a day. Staff understood cross contamination but they are open about not being total gf location
This is definitely not a gluten free bakery in any way but they do have one gluten free cupcake they make per day. They took precautions to keep contamination low by putting the gluten free cupcakes on the top shelf and wearing gloves. I had a peanut butter chocolate cupcake and it was delicious!
So wanted to give them a 5 star review. The manager came out and answered all my questions and they look good! I was a little confused over their labeling, but their label on the product did not say peanuts. Get to the frosting and smell it and it reeked of Reese’s. Not a happy camper to only be able to eat half of my cupcake.

One gluten free cupcake option. No dairy free options. Very sad.
Great cupcakes. I am sorry for those who rated this poorly and who walked in and walked out because the cupcakes were on the same tray. Those are FOR DISPLAY ONLY. When I asked on behalf of my celiac son, they explained all the precautions they take (including keeping the GF ones separately and changing their gloves). It is safe for Celiacs.
Yes
Yummy cupcakes! Unfortunately there is only one flavor of GF cupcakes made a day. Staff are friendly and always remember to change their gloves and package separately when buy both gluten and non-gluten cupcakes.

A lot of people are mentioning sharing a tray in the display case, but it is just that, for display. When ordering the GF Chocolate Birthday Cupcake I was asked if I was an allergy and if I would like them to change their gloves. Very thoughtful and appreciated. All cupcake flavors have their own dedicated tray on the racks they pull the orders from in a different location away from the display case. Moist and delicious.
4 Stars because of the size of the cupcakes. For the price these should easily be double in size. Much smaller than one normally finds for a gourmet cupcake. They do taste delicious though, frosting is very sweet.
Chocolate lava fudge was Monday's sole GF option. Amazing. Moist cake with soft, creamy icing, not to mention pudding - like lava inside this flavor. Immediately ask if allergic. If you are celiac how do you complain about any bakery that isn't GF dedicated? Get real or take your chances. Well worth the $3.50 per price if you're not snotty about only one GF option daily. Bonus: Coffee shop next door serves Stumptown coffee that is among the best roasts in the US.
I loved this place before I was diagnosed with a gluten allergy/intolerance. Their cupcakes are delicious (both GF and otherwise).
The thing that really bothers me about the GF-ness of Georgetown Cupcake is that they pretty much only have chocolate GF cupcakes available (i.e. chocolate cake cupcakes). Even their flagship cupcake, the red velvet, is not available in a GF option.
If you're looking for a chocolately GF cupcake, this place is for you. Otherwise, like me, you will feel extremely limited with the GF options available.

I am extremely sensitive (celiac) and have been coming here for years with no reaction. I have spoken to the owner, and to limit cross contamination ALL the gluten free cupcakes are baked first thing in the morning before any other flour is present. Additionally, the cupcakes in the display case are NOT the cupcake you'll be getting to eat. They are in their own separate tray. Best gluten free cupcakes I've ever had - Tuesday is gf salted caramel day and my personal favorite.
Solid 4 stars. They changed their gloves and knew to put mine in its own box apart from the cupcake I purchased for my wife. To clarify from other reviews, the GF cupcake of the day is kept in the display case only so that you can see it. The cupcake you eat is kept elsewhere. I loved the chocolate cupcake with salted caramel icing and didn't get sick. :)

The reviews on here seem a little harsh and misguided. This is one of my favorite places to go when visiting boston. The cupcakes in the display when you walk in are just that, a display. They are not the ones that are actually given to you. Whenever I have been here they immediately ask me if it is for an allergy and change their gloves before retrieving my cupcake from its tray. The only time I have ever had an issue here was when a girl gave me the wrong cupcake on accident (which my friend thankfully caught) and it was very quickly corrected. All in all, their cupcakes are delicious and I have never had a problem eating them.
I have celiac and have never had a reaction here. I noticed that a lot of people are commenting that the cupcakes share a display case, but when you order cupcakes they DO NOT take the cupcakes from the case! They take them from a separate gluten free tray that is behind the display. They also always ask if it's for an allergy and if it is, they immediately change their gloves. It's obviously still a risk, but they do a great job -- and the cupcakes are AMAZING!!!! GF peanut butter cupcake is the best GF cupcake I've ever had.
I hate when people review places like this as celiac friendly. First off there is a sign stating if you have celiac they are not for you. Plus they were on the same tray and touching the Vegan cupcakes which are not gf. Also made using all the same equipment as the regular. Not for celiacs

Not gluten free at all the cupcakes sit next to each other and it clearly states if you have a food allergy to not eat there..

I was looking forward to enjoying a GF cupcake after seeing the reviews here. I stepped in, found the one flavor that was available that day, saw it was sharing a display plate in the case with non GF cupcakes and walked right back out. I can understand sharing the same case, as space is limited, but too much cross contamination risk for me on the same plate! Having celiac, there was no way I was going to take the risk. Too bad too, they looked yummy!

Gluten Free chocolate lava cake is insane. Just as good as Magnolia or Sprinkles actually even better.
cupcakes are amazing!

The GF cupcake of the day was chocolate birthday cake. It was great! Took one home and stick it in the fridge. Still good but MUCH better when it's fresh!

The gluten free cupcakes are delicious and always changing. Yum

Only one daily flavor available gluten free. The one I had was really good, soft, good texture. Would give 5 stars if it had 1 or 2 other flavors to choose from
Yummm. (need I say more?)
Yes
Delicious gluten free cupcakes, different flavor every day.
There were two GF cupcakes on the menu. The one we tried was very good. The staff asked if it was an allergy and if we wanted a glove change. Tray was clearly labeled GF but obviously the facility is not entirely GF

There is flour everywhere in this place. Definitely not celiac safe.

Super Laden jeden Tag ein glutenfreier cupcakes. Wir hatten Schoko Caramel, ein Traum. Werden in einem Ofen gebacken und fragten ob sie separate Handschuhe beim einpacken anziehen sollen. Super vertragen.
