After reading reviews, I was excited to try this place. Walking in, the atmosphere made me love it even more, it’s just my kind of place.
After getting seated at our table we waited for an abnormally long time for the waitress to show up. I asked her if they had a gluten-free menu and she told me I should’ve asked the hostess for that, and then stared at me. Not responding to her in the insane comment, after what was clearly uncomfortable pause for her, she said, well I guess I can bring you one.
She dropped off the menu and ran without asking us if we wanted drinks. When she finally came back to get our order, I asked her if they have a dedicated fryer for gluten-free options, and she looked puzzled at me. I asked her if the chicken wings were deep-fried, to which she replied, yes, and I asked if they were fried in the same thing with breaded items, such as onion rings, and she respond, Yes. To which I said, so your chicken wings are not gluten-free. She said, well they’re gluten sensitive or reduced or something like that.
I went ahead and ordered a prime rib with mashed potatoes and cheesy grits. Both items were rather tasty, Though my ribeye was a New York strip, not a ribeye.
Service overall was pretty terrible. Drinks were allowed to run dry, and one time she even took my drink from me before it was gone without even asking if I’d like another. I’m not sure if she was a hurry to go home, but she forced the bill on us, and wouldn’t take a “we aren’t done yet.” When I asked her to split the bill, she didn’t. Then she took my plate from me before I’d even finished.
From a safety perspective, I did not get sick, but don’t trust their menu and ask questions. I want to like this place, but man the service was terrible.
Ate here a few years ago and had an amazing meal. This time, not as good. We order specifically off the GF menu and the food came out with bread and covered in sauce. Judging by the wait time and food placement our food WAS remade. Our waitress didn’t seem to notice or care. We never got drink refills. And it’s expensive.
