Review of Girls Gone Vegan Bakery

I custom-ordered a king cake. It was outstanding. Unfortunately, it got me sick. I was so incredulous that I bought another slice of their king cake from the co-op, but lo and behold, I got sick again. I really would like for New Orleans to have a local, reliably GF bakery! I emailed the staff and they replied (very graciously) to say that there’s really no way gluten could have been in there. I don’t know who to believe, but ultimately, I have to trust my gut.

I’ve previously eaten their sweet potato sandwich bread numerous times, without getting sick. It’s so so good while it’s fresh. Available inconsistently at the co-op. I’ve tried their donuts a few times— haven’t gotten sick, but they are dry and hard and too sweet for me. Anyway, after the king cake debacle, I am sad to say I won’t be buying their products anymore. Maybe you’ll be luckier.
