Lots of GF options, but cashier advised me to not get anything if I was very sensitive as the griddle space was all shared and all cooking and prep surfaces. If you are t celiac, loads of options

I ate here for lunch and got the black beans and rice bowl with cheese, avocado and tofu. It was good and I haven’t had any reactions. They have many other gluten free things as well as gluten free baked goods. However, some of the gluten free baked goods were right next to gluten-containing baked goods so I’m not super confident on how gluten free they actually are.

Wonderful place, very knowledgeable on gf and allergies. I am celiac (swelling and painful joints) and dairy (anaphylactic) and had delicious rancheros without the feta and they made sure the eggs were cooked in oil and not butter. The house made chai was amazing and the oat milk is gluten free. Please ignore the low safety ratings of people that don’t comment on why they gave that rating.

We went at 8am on a Saturday. GF items marked on the menu but when I talked to the manager, she said it was a bakery and cross contamination is possible. She recommended items that are cooked in their own pan. the potatoes are cooked on a flattop and have a high risk of cross contamination. Manager did not give any help with what would be the safest and she was very brief and seemed annoyed by me. The GF baked goods were right next to gluten containing items so I didn’t feel they were safe to try. Had the granola with yogurt and fruit. It was delicious and I didn’t get sick.

I had the gluten free waffles for breakfast and they were very good. We were told that they only serve gluten free waffles, so the waffle iron is not shared with glutinous items. I stopped there another time for coffee and a pastry, but did not question them about cross contamination as other reviewers did. I had no bad reaction. They had a couple gluten free pastry options both times we went.

I ordered egg, sautéed veggies, and an organic americano. I always take my gluten shield supplement to help with any possible cross-contamination. I did not have any adverse effects from eating here! In fact, they seemed knowledgeable and understanding of sensitivities and cross-contamination when I was asking about possible food options and asked me what sensitivities I had so they could note them with the order. I felt pretty comfortable eating/drinking my order.

Lots of gf options and they know about cross contamination. The gf Belgian waffle was excellent. Many soup and breakfast options were gf too! Gf bread that came w soup was very good.

Was so disappointed, my gluten free Mac and cheese was dry. I was also so sick 20 minutes later that we had to get a motel room. So much for vacation.

Like others have said, the full menu is often labelled GF or vegan optional, but the positives end there. Lots of cross contamination. When I asked “will you please label my order with gluten and dairy allergies” she said no. Why?! Their steel cut oat special was labelled GF but made with oat milk that is not GF. More than anything, the attitude of the staff toward the allergies was the worst part.

Bakery items are not actually gluten free - made in a shared facility, the woman who was in charge told me if I am celiac I shouldn’t try the cheesecake. Broken dreams.
All the equipment is shared. Not sure why this is rated so high.
No
Very knowledgeable and accommodating. Much of the menu is GF. Disclaimers about procedures and preparation methods. Habanero salsa is on point. Huge slices of GF cheesecake! (Baked in the same pan as their non-GF quiche, but they clean them thoroughly and line the pan with wax paper before they bake their cheesecakes) items are in the same case so proceed with caution.
Awesome lunch spot. Great GF options on menu and the server seemed very knowledgeable about CC issues (advised there is a separate griddle for GF panini but no toaster for plain bread etc ). Large portions and great tasting food.
All items are in the same case, gf right next to gluten. Busy, crowded, no confidence. Did not eat here.

Great choices and options, pastries are kept in a separate place. However when I ordered a Macaroon they brought me another cookie that wasn’t gluten free. My bad for not realizing it, but luckily didn’t have (painful) reactions
Excellent food and delicious gluten free choices! Loved it! Went back twice!
Yes
Many GF choices. A busy, favorite place in Mendocino. I had the BLT sandwich & the clam chowder. Be sure to let them know you are celiac-they will take extra care with your meal to avoid any cross contamination.
Excellent GF options. I had gf clam chowder with multigrain bread and gf cheesecake with expresso caramel sauce that was heavenly!

for the price and the huge wait in line, it was ok. there were a lot of gf options. I had 45 minutes in line to decide what I wanted. it cost over $30 for two of us at lunch! I wished that I had cell service because I would have found another place to eat. we were in line to have our order taken for 45 minutes!
Great food. Wide selection. The freshly baked buckwheat bread is outstanding.
So good! I had the gluten free breakfast cake with a side salad and some buckwheat toast. I am gluten-free and dairy-free. Staff are knowledgeable and patient. Love this place!

I am celiac and felt very comfortable eating here. It was awesome! Lots of GF options were clearly marked on the menu and in the case. Staff was very nice as was the atmosphere. I got the GF mac and cheese and the GF Caesar salad, a chocolate-dipped macaroon and a piece of cheesecake with espresso caramel sauce (for later). Huge portions and so delicious I'm going back for breakfast tomorrow. Don't skip this one. It's a great find! đ

Excellent GF baked goods selection. A variety of other GF selections also.

Wow!! Super tasty gf muffins. Superb salads, gf breakfast burritos. Lots and lot options at order at counter spot. Worth a stop driving up highway one. Right on Main Street. Didn't ask about cross contamination.
ate here on my way through mendo, staff was knowledgeable about cc. Although i did not eat baked goods, the woman whos knows whats up told me they have seperate baking sheets for gluten-free and a separate panini press for the gf pancakes. I had the enchiladas, they were delicious!
Yes
Many GF options: enchiladas, salads, soups (with biscuits or bread!) and mac n cheese. Staff were knowledgeable and kind.
Yes
Has some divine enchiladas here. The woman at the counter was very knowledgable and said that many people with celiac eat there. The first man I spoke to hadn't heard of celiac but directed me to her and she knew how to answer all my questions well. I avoided the baked items just to play it safe but they were stored in their own container and the woman told me how careful they are when baking everything. Yes this is a bakery so consider that but they seem very great about avoiding contamination. My meal was so good and I felt great after eating. They also have gf macaroni, salads, bowls, and pastries:)
Scrumdelicious! This was a great spot for a GF snack in downtown Mendocino. They had lots of savory and sweet options. My kids say not to miss the GF blueberry coffee cake or macaroons.
Yes
Many tasty GF options at this little spot in Mendocino. The counter staff was not very knowledgeable, but they immediately brought out the manager (chef / owner?) who very much was, and answered all my questions. I ended up getting the veggie cakes (delicious, and served with a variety of homemade sauces) and some enchiladas which were quite good, and served with a huge portion of beans & rice to boot.
The only bummer is that the GF baked goods are not made separately from the non-GF ones, so I abstained from dessert. .
Chicken Enchiladas, black beans & rice for lunch and a pumpkin almond muffin for dessert to go. My husband had 4 Cheese Macaroni & Cheese made with quinoa pasta. All flavors great. So great that we came back for breakfast the next morning. We were too early so breakfasted elsewhere, but stopped by later for another sweet treat- Blueberry Coffee Cake. Moist, lots of blueberries, and the consistency was fantastic. Highly recommend the Goodlife when in Mendocino. Many G-F choices on the menu. Not open for dinner.
