I got very sick there. If you have celiac do not risk it. Service is not that good anyways. I’m surprised this place still in business. 2good2b is out of business now and I hope this place will be soon. Their nephews owners is the worst with a horrible customer service. I’ve never seen the owners otherwise I will personally ask to return my money for the overpriced food and for the false advertising. They have no clue about allergies and if they said Encinitas is the best place for the restaurant it is because customers will pay their overpriced food just to feel cool and trendy. Wake up people this places is NOT what they clame to be.

I’ve eaten here a number of times in the past few years — beginning when I was first diagnosed with celiac and needed to be extra extra careful. I appreciate their efforts to make the place Celiac friendly, but I’ve come to learn that despite their efforts, they are not the place to rely on for 100% gf food without cross contamination.

I have eaten here numerous times and it’s definitely celiac safe! The owners and staff are incredibly conscientious about cross contamination AND the food and desserts are phenomenally wonderful. I highly recommend eating here, mention your celiac status and you’ll be full of delicious sag food before you leave. Everyone who works here is happy and smiling and much of the food is locally sourced. I drive down from Los Angeles at least once a month just to eat here and visit with family.

The key to eating at this place is asking the right questions - we ordered a sandwich and a salad. When asking the waiter about what is Celiac safe he explained that the entire menu is GF except the bread. The bread is in a shared toaster, however they toast it on a tray so it doesn’t contact any other surfaces. To be extra safe, order your sandwich in a coconut wrap to avoid any potential cross contamination. I was hesitant at the thought of a coconut wrap but it was surprisingly light and tasty, a perfect alternative! Everyone at this restaurant was kind and helpful, we did not experience any issues! (Ordered: CA Turkey Sandwich in a Coconut wrap and the Turkey Greek Salad)

I want to love this place, they seem like they should be celiac friendly but they aren’t. They don’t understand cross-contamination, and aren’t always careful with orders. The last two times I ate here my order was messed up. First time they brought me gluten-full bread. The second time they cooked my eggs in butter(after I requested they use coconut oil due to severe dairy allergy). I got sick in the parking lot on my way out. Staff is distracted when busy and not everyone understands allergies— they cater more to people eating GF/DF for lifestyle reasons— don’t risk it if you get sick. Tons of GF bread options but no dedicated toaster.

Great breakfast options. The server was knowledgeable and told me they had a special button to flag my food specifically for celiac. Separate toaster (sourdough was fabulous), bold coffee, and hashed browns...couldn't ask for more.

I had to update my review unfortunately. Gluten Free society needs to know what places to visit and sadly Goodonya is the place to avoid. Beside the horrible customer service, there is no control with cross contamination practices. After several attempts, today is my final and I am not coming back to this restaurant. You want to risk it and be in pain come to Goodonya! I would give no stars but this app won't allow it. Very disappointed, restaurant owners don't take customer service and allergies seriously.

My mom and I were in Encinitas to celebrate a birthday. We came here for myself and we were both HIGHLY disappointed. The girls working seemed unsure about what they were talking about. (Gluten free foods)

And

To top it all off. A 8.5” pizza (only gf size they had) was $14-$27. Plus it was like weird stuff on a pizza..

We walked out and never went back.

They are super good about making food for celiac/gluten allergy. I have never gotten a reaction, and I've been there countless times. The owners are awesome and care a lot.
