We tried Graeters ice cream. We did not make it past the sign on the counter which states all ice cream may contain every possible allergen including gluten as it is all shared space and open to cross contamination. This may be fine if you are gluten sensitive but not if you are Celiac. We left without ordering.
The gentleman who helped me was so nice! He thoroughly washed his hands, got a new bucket of ice cream out, and a brand new scooper out of a package! All Graeters locations will do this as they call them “allergy scoops”. Only some of their ice creams are gf and I’ve never had an issue with the ones that are! (you can buy gallons/pints that say gf right on the packaging, their website also lists gf next to the flavors)
I had looked ahead of time on the Grater’s website and they have a section listed of what’s gluten free. The worker was so sweet and gracious to double check for me. They asked the severity of my allergy and got a new scoop and new tub of ice cream to prevent cross contamination. It was so nice to have a little treat (other than vanilla ice cream) and enjoy the views of fountain square for my lunch break.
