Graeter's Ice Cream

We have been to this location and the one on Rangeline Road in Carmel. Both had knowledgeable staff about allergens. Ambleside Dr. location even did an “allergen scoop” with a fresh tub of ice cream and a cleaned scooper so there was no cross contamination. Items aren’t marked gluten free but the staff were willing to double check and/or already knew what was ok for my celiac daughter.

Lots of gluten free flavors! They are always happy to wash the ice cream scoop before serving mine. They are very aware of allergy concerns.

The ice cream servers got out a fresh tub of ice cream and cleaned a scoop so I could have black cherry ice cream. So kind of them!!

The website maintains a list of gluten free flavors. The employee that served us was very knowledgeable in which flavors were gluten free and the protocol of an “allergy scoop” which involves cleaning the prep area, clean scooper, getting a new ice cream tub from the back and putting in rubber gloves. It was great!

If you tell that that you have allergies upfront they will clean the scooper and open a new tub of ice cream to prevent cross contamination (but you may have to ask)

Best ice cream that I’ve had in a long time! So delicious! And I felt really safe eating here.
