This place is OK for those who are gluten sensitive, but not good enough for Celiac's. They try but just do not have the separate kitchen tools , the knowledge, or the room to dedicate space just for gluten free prep. Its molecules of gluten that will affect a celiac's health and its difficult for any restaurant to garuntee that there won't be cross- contamination.
The Green Granary is a small restaurant which serves organic and locally grown foods for breakfast and lunch. The owner trains her staff to be extra attentive to patrons with food allergies and sensitivities. The waitress wrote CELIAC right on the order slip so that the cook and kitchen staff would follow the correct protocol in the food preparation. They have a designated area in the kitchen for gluten free prep and offer gluten free foods daily. Almost beyond imaginable, the food tastes delicious and the menu selections are fresh and creative. The waitstaff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I feel completely relaxed eating there with my son who has Celiac Disease.
