The staff were all very knowledgeable about everything, and the service was friendly. The menu was a little odd as they had a gluten free section as well as things marked with a star/green circle on the normal menu that could be made gluten free. The food all had very nice flavor (even the Udis pizza which I don’t typically love). I really enjoyed the shrimp street tacos. The only thing to watch out for was that everything ran a bit on the spicier side (considering how far north the restaurant is).
They have a GF section on the menu. Typical options, but the pizza with Udi's crust was really good.
I rarely write negative reviews. This food was bad. The sauce on the spinach artichoke pasta was extremely acidic and there was some kind of vegetable that was unpleasantly fibrous. Though it seems to be celiac friendly.
The manager personally helped me to find something that was both gluten & dairy free! I got the pasta with red sauce & a salad with lite Italian dressing!! Super good!
Had the chicken street tacos. The staff is knowledgeable and know how to direct those that have an intolerance vs CD.
The staff was very friendly. The gluten free menu had lots of options, including pizza and pasta. The pizza (made from an Udi's crust) I ate was very delicious, possibly the best I've ever eaten. I would highly recommend eating here!
Green Mill in Albert Lea is very good about making sure your needs are taken care of. I love the Spinach pecan cranberry salad.
The gf pizza is on an Udi's crust. Gf menu is listed on their website. I enjoyed the food too!
They don't have a separate gf menu so it makes it hard to look so I had to use this app for the menu and then some of the things on it they didn't have. The cilantro lime shrimp salad was delicious. Glad this chain is trying though :) every chain that has gf options should have their staff trained on it. We'll get there :)
Menu is clearly listed Gf items. Salads are great!
I struggled on what to rate this. I did not have a reaction to eating here. That being said the staff IS NOT knowledgeable. I ordered the burger on a gf bun and she asked if I wanted fries or onion rings. I said “the menu says those are not gluten free.” She said, right. And then stared at me. I ordered a side salad and when she brought it out it was covered in croutons. I sent it back, she said she would ‘remake’ it but I feel safe in saying she just took the croutons off. As a celiac I would not eat here again.
I’ve always had good experiences here. They have gluten free pasta now which was really yummy! A little pricey though. They also have GF buns and pizza. Never had the GF bun, but the pizza is good. Fun place to watch a game or have a family night out.
I had the gluten friendly artichoke and spinach pasta. I let the waitress know I had celiac as she visited with the chef for me. They told me that me meal was prepared separately from the other food and in a separate pan. Good food and good service.
Attended a wedding rehearsal and reception here. The hostess came to talk to me about what was being served while we were decorating for the event to ensure I could eat what was being prepared. She Ordered a special gluten free pizza for me for the rehearsal dinner and didn’t charge extra for it. Wedding dinner was delicious. Very courteous, discreet and helpful!!
They can't even take precautions enough to make a plain salad safe for celiacs. I would never choose to eat here, but it would be nice to be able to order one safe thing if I'm here with a group.
I have eaten at this Green Mill in Shoreview several times. Both Burgers and Pizza Available. I have not had a reaction any of the times I have dined here. Although I am very cautious to let the waitress know and have them let the kitchen know as well. Overall great experiences thus far and plan to continue to eat here.
They said they had a great gluten free menu but when we got there they just had GF pizza dough (udi's) and buns (udi's). I tried to order a steak GF but the waitress didn't know if they could do it. She then asked the kitchen and said no one knew if they could make it gluten free (obviously no one working even knew what gluten was). Anyway we left and went to ground round about 10 minutes away and it was a much better choice!
I am here currently in the banquet room and the holiday party I am at had nothing gluten free and wouldn't pay for gf food for me. green mill went above and beyond to order me a gluten free pizza and deliver it to me. this pizza was made with UDI crust and so tasty. my fiance who isn't celiac had a bite and he loved it!!!!!!! very good would love to come back.
Gluten free menu items are noted on the menu. Staff is somewhat knowledgable on cross contamination. I've had to send my salad back a couple of times as there was croutons. I stick with the nachos with no sour cream (not GF)
