What a great place!!!!! Lots of gf items to choose from. They carry Udi breads, bagels etc. I had an egg white, Wild-caught large shrimp, and chopped tomatoes in a gf spinach wrap. YUM-O!!!! They also keep your coffee cup full!!!! Sit in the greenhouse...it’s fun!
Had a great experience, staff and owner understands what it means to be celiac. I’ve been getting cross contaminated almost everywhere lately, and I had a great meal there the other day. Can’t wait to go back and try more of their gluten-free options. Would recommend, it’s only 8 miles from my house, and I’m so glad I discovered their gluten-free option on the menu
The best GF experience on LBI. Fantastic, knowledgeable, accommodating service. Exceptional variety of GF items. I thought my daughter was going to cry when she tasted her GF steak fries and burger, which was grilled to perfection. This more than made up for some disappointing GF experiences here.
Excellent gluten free option. They have an incredible amount of gluten free choices and all staff are very aware of their options. They are also well trained about risks of cross contamination. We ate breakfast there first and my 10 year old was so excited about all of the gluten free breakfast options. My 10 year old daughter got GF french toast and my 2 year old daughter got GF pancakes. We even made a special request for sprinkles on my 2 year old's pancakes and they were more than happy to oblige. My wife got an egg, homefries, and bacon with GF toast, which was very similar to sourdough and one of the most amazing GF breads I've ever had. My mother in law also ate gluten free and got the egg, crab and cheese on a bagel. We also got lunch takeout from there. I got a cheeseteak on their GF hoagie roll. My 10 year old and M-I-L got GF crabcakes. My wife got a GF crabcake sandwich on their GF Kaiser roll. All of the food was hot and delicous. This is one of our favorite GF vacation experiences ever.
I've visited this restaurant twice. The food is delicious! The first time I went, I was so impressed with the service and how knowledgeable the server was in helping me pick out menu items that were both gluten free and dairy free. The second time I went, neither the server nor the manager knew what was safe and what wasn't. They even advised me to stay away from the cole slaw because they said they weren't sure if the mayonnaise was dairy free (I've never heard of mayonnaise containing milk, so my only guess is that they mistakenly thought that eggs were dairy). It made me feel very uncomfortable about their ability to help me find safe foods on the menu.
Great service! A bit pricy but thats something we expect! I got the egg American sub and oh mannnn was I excited to chow down!!! When I got home I was very very very very surprised HOW BIG THE SUB WAS. If you've been gf as long as I have (12years now) you know the typical bread size is BABY bread compared to normal bread. This sub was actually a sub!!!!!! Must try for a gf person.... they aren't a 100% dedicated facility so always tell them how sensitive you are... I am extremely sensitive so I always explain the best way to avoid cross contamination. They were very knowledgeable which gave me extra confidence! A++++++++
Waitress was great with explaining what is and isn't gf. Clam chowder was really good and had a full pizza with gluten free crust. I have celiac so no cross contamination is important, and that wasn't a problem. They have a lot of options and are careful... Would definitely recommend
My waitress was very knowledgeable and very helpful with telling me what was gluten-free. I haven't had a good chowder let alone a gluten-free chowder in years! The New England clam chowder was very good as well as the gluten-free crabcake. It was very nice to have such a big selection and and someone so attentive to my needs.
The waitress got very defensive when I asked where the GF pancakes were prepared. If they advertise that they have many GF options, they should be willing to answer questions about cross-contamination. I shouldn't have worried though, they were obviously microwaved. The edges were overcooked and inedible. My son very much enjoyed his non-GF meal.
I have celiac and dairy intolerance. I ordered one crab cake and the portabella tower without cheese. Both were really good, but cost me almost $40 . A bit pricey for my budget. Waitress was very friendly and attentive , but didnt seem to know a lot about what exactly was gf. Just pointed me to the paragraph on the menu.
the greenhouse Cafe has a marvelous staff who are very informed about celiac disease and gluten intolerance. The staff including the chefs check all the ingredients will provide any information to answer all of your questions diligently. It's very very rare to find service oriented to understand in this sort of condition. I can't say anything except marvelous things about the greenhouse. the staff is great the food is delicious and they go out of their way and accommodating your allergies this is something that is quality and I wish other places would follow suit. Thank you so much for the wonderful afternoon. they accommodated my service dog Romeo and immediately serve him some water kudos to everybody here exclamation point
The staff is not knowledgeable about gluten free. They gave me regular oyster crackers with my gluten free chowder. The food is very overpriced and has no flavor. The menu is confusing (there is no gluten free menu nor any asterisks marking which food is gluten free.
Went for both dinner and breakfast. Dinner was fantastic!! I had the gluten free crab cakes and my son had a bacon cheeseburger, with a gf roll. Everything was delicious. Breakfast was pretty good. Always great to be able to get gf pancakes, waffles, and toast. The pancakes were a little dry but tasted good. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
The wait staff was extremely accommodating to our Celiac disease. We were told that were cooked on a clean griddle and they served Udi's toast. Had a bagel with LOX which is a special treat. And I didn't give a full 5 stars was because the managers / owner was quite condescending when I asked about how the food was prepared. When I said I was only trying to keep my daughter healthy he responded that they do this all the time and I should trust him. I don't trust anybody when it comes to my daughter's health. I thoroughly vet all restaurants and just bc he does it all the time, doesnt mean he does it right. I have to ask the questions!
this place had good reviews but I wasn't overly impressed. we probably wont return. the gf crab cakes are good but its $15for one with no sides. they charge extra for gf food and kids meals than what the menu states so that surprised me when we recieved the bill. most of the menu doesn't include sides. the gf fries are a potato cut up in 4 and baked. so not impressed.
The Menu reads like someone with no education put it together. It is so hard to read!! Wait staff looks like they are being held hostage or on meds! No personality at all! The GF food is blah at best. No creativity with either the regular food or the GF food. Nothing special here at all.
