Bring your own bread, the fondue is GF! It's that are GF or can be made as such are marked on the menu.
They used to have a more expansive menu overall, not just for GF, but it became more limited a short time ago, which limited the GF even more. I did become ill a few years back, but in part I should have recognized my meal came with a sauce which was what the GF accommodation said to take off. They have a great GF beer, but it's spendy. The staff is either overworked or there are management issues because attitudes can sometimes be of the eye-rolling and sighing variety, or over the top false nice.
I went in and wanted to order gluten free but they have no gluten free menu in the restaurant, I had to look it up online. I ordered a sausage that was supposed to be gluten free. The sausage was alright, but even though they were very aware that they were making my plate gluten free, they still put on the potatoes and other items. I was told they were all gluten free, but after having to rush to the bathroom I looked it up and the other items on my plate had soy sauce in them. I had to sit in the bathroom for half my time out at dinner and on top of that nobody cared and the good was crazy expensive. If you are GF DO NOT EAT HERE
There was NOT a gluten free menu (PDX location). However, wait staff made suggestions including two of the three sausages or a sandwich without bun. Both sauerkraut and potato salad are made with soy sauce therefore not gluten free. At least one of the three mustards brought to the table had gluten. Floor and tables were sticky. Service was improved since the last time I went there and food came out super quick. Food tasted good. I had a sausage (sandwich without bun) and fries with grilled onion in place of the kraut.
Completely unreliable. Yes they have GF beer but are often out. They have GF cider but are often out. If they treated the rest of their business the way the treat GF they would be hurting. So while they tout they are GF, they are inconsistent and seem not to care. Other restaurants in this chain are Rheinlander. If you enjoy German food, stick with either the Slide Inn or the Berlin Inn. They've figured out how to be consistent.
