I really enjoyed the food and my experience here! My waitress immediately asked my table about allergies after we were seated. Almost the entire menu is gluten free (including sauces), so it was easy to navigate. My family and I did a group option, so we just had to be conscious of the 1 item that contained gluten and only grilled it on a separate grill from mine. My server couldn’t confirm whether or not the mochi ice cream is gluten free, so she brought me green tea ice cream. They were very accommodating and answered all of my questions.
Almost everything on the menu is naturally gluten free, so we always make an effort to stop at Gyukaku if we are near one. You order your meat/veggies which come to your table raw, then you pop them on the grill to cook. All three sauces on the table are GF and you can even buy bottles of it to use at home. There are a couple sauces (teriyaki and basil?) that are used on some chicken dishes, so just make sure to sub for gf sauce. For example, the kids meal comes with teriyaki chicken, and the server was on top of it and said they'd sub in the sweet soy sauce instead since I had already asked her about gluten free when ordering something else. Can't say enough good things about this place.
Pro tip: lunch time is a lot cheaper than dinner time (though dinner is still worth it!)
Japanese style BBQ with a grated grill over flames. Keep GF items to a specific section of the grill or keep grill gluten free. Menu is clearly marked and the staff were relatively knowledgable. Since you cook your own food there isn't as big of a risk of CC. ALL sauces available at the table were GF which was super exciting! Their premium sauce on the menu is also safe for us. They also had GF & Vegan Bibimbap and mochi!! Yay!
