This was a stop for a business conference meal. They were notified ahead of time that a person with celiac was attending. They had a buffet out and when I asked what was safe the server was unsure and was also unsure if they could make me a separate salad. I went and sat down with my glass of water deciding I would just eat when we got back to the hotel. The server eventually told the manager who came over to tell me that I could have a salad, but I also could have had the bbq off of the buffet. I told her that people were using the bbq tongs to put the meat on buns and there was a high chance of cross contamination, but she just doubled down to tell me it would have been “fine”. Not a place for anyone with celiac.
The staff was knowledgeable and they added a note for the kitchen to make sure there was no cross-contamination. I was pleasantly surprised considering it is a beer place. I will be going back, except I will ask them to label the sauce next time- some are gluten free and some are not but they all went into the same bag for my carry out order so I couldn’t tell which we’re gluten free and which were not.
I was immediately skeptical because it’s a beer hall BUT the waiter who took our order made sure to let everyone know I had celiac disease. Our food was all gluten free, including having gluten free bread. They also had tons of ciders and other gluten free beverages to choose from. All coupled with a great patio and live music, highly recommend.
