An amazing experience from the food, atmosphere, service, and all the staff! I was very lucky to have Scott as our server who was so helpful answering questions about the menu and accommodations. A good portion of the menu is gluten free if not it can be gluten free by omitting an ingredient. The fryers are gluten free only on some days when not used for brunch items. Would highly recommend Hall’s to anyone!!

I went on a day that there was no separate gluten free fryer but still had a great meal. There is no separate gluten free menu but the waitress did point out what was gluten free. She did not seem the most knowledgeable but was happy to check with the kitchen. They even brought me gluten free bread! I had the Hall’s Chop Salad with steak and it was delicious.

Lots of options and a dedicated fryer for gluten free things. The server explained that they used rice flour for most things. They brought out a basket of gluten free rolls for me to eat. Most of the sides are gluten free and lots of options on the menu (server made sure I did not eat the onion rings). Great gluten free cheesecake!

Immediately asked about any allergies. They brought a separate basket of gluten free rolls which were amazing! They also mentioned every item that was gluten free and the items that could be made gluten free. They assured me that there was a separate fryer dedicated to gluten free items.

Excellent service, asks customer if any allergies. Received warm gf rolls, most items on menu if not already gf can be adapted. Food was delicious 10/10 for experience and food.

Staff was super knowledgeable. They have some apps and a cinnamon roll cheesecake that are gluten free. They adjusted my creamed corn and oysters Rockefeller to be gluten free. Cannot recommend enough!

No dedicated gluten free fryer available on our visit which was very disappointing. After reading so many reviews on this app, I was so excited to have safe gluten free onion straws but our waiter informed me the dedicated gluten free fryer was not always gluten free. Otherwise, our steak and sides were delicious and I had no reaction. The staff seemed knowledgeable about cross contamination.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Allergy or otherwise they have the friendliest, most accommodating staff I’ve seen in a hot minute. I had the shrimp and grits and GF onion straws and my husband had the Ribeye and I honestly don’t know which was my favorite. Our waitress was so friendly and knowledgeable it made the whole experience even better. The owner even came by our table to chat. If you’re looking for a great restaurant would recommend with my whole being

Majority of the food on the menu is gluten free or can be made gluten free. When I shared my allergy with the server she informed me that one of the head chefs wife has celiac so I knew the kitchen would understand me needs. They also sometimes have gluten free bread if requested. Unfortunately they were out tonight so I wasn’t able to try it. Hopefully next time!!

Incredible restaurant. Had an amazing time, but be warned that the rare-well done ratio is a little more rare than you might be used to. They had great options for almost all of their menu, and even some for the desserts. Would go again.

Fantastic experience. GF menu items were not marked on the menu, but the server was extremely knowledgeable and told me which items I could have. I was able to get the tuna tartare app, filet and mashed potatoes. It was delicious and I had no reaction. There were lots of other options for apps, salads and sides. Highly recommend

Went here for dinner with my wife. Server did his routine but you could tell he was generally disinterested. Calamari appetizer was ok, but not particularly good. We asked if the flounder could be made gluten free. Waiter said he’d check- and an unseasoned, dry, plain slab of fish came out 30 minutes later. A simple “no” would have been preferable so we could have ordered something else. Not a great experience overall, however, it did seem somewhat gluten-safe if nothing else.

Staff is very knowledgeable, and the kitchen has allergy protocols to prevent cross contamination. They have a dedicated fryer, and all fried sides but their onion rings are GF. The steaks are amazing! We have eaten there many times, and I have not ever gotten sick

This place knows what’s up! I had the bison nachos and they were to die for. They have a separate fryer and are versed in cross contamination. My husband got the truffle fries and asked that they be made GF (they already were). They were amazing too. I recommend eating from the Bar Menu as it is a lot less expensive. They do not have a separate GF menu because they work with your specific needs. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff superb. You cannot go wrong with this choice.

This was literally the best meal I’ve ever had. In addition to an amazing steak, I was able to have fried okra for the first time since going gluten free almost seven years ago. This was also the most expensive meal I’ve ever had in my life so I don’t know that I’ll ever get to do it again but I’m so glad I got to check this off my bucket list!
Fried green tomatoes, halls breakfast (eggs, grits...) and a Bloody Mary-type cocktail adapted because the mix was not gf. It’s expensive but worth it.

Amazing food. Server was very knowledgeable and helpful with GF options on their menu. Also, they use rice flour for many of their fried foods. Totally rocked my world bc was I able to enjoy their fried green tomatoes! Soooo good! Will definitely be back in the future. No reactions.
Excellent service and easily customized menu options to be gluten free. Highly recommend. I had the bison steak with risotto that was off menu. I am sensitive to gluten and fiance is most likely Celiac's and we had no issues.

Halls is 100% Celiac safe . We test all good w Nima . They listen , take notes and care Creme brûlée for dessert and macaroons . Delicious. Beet salad , steak , truffle butter , mashed potatoes, sweet potato fries , burrata salad . Go indulge . Enjoy

Bison filet was so incredibly superb — had sides of creamed corn ( could have eaten a bowl of just this), Brussels, and loaded poptatoes! Sooooo good 😊😊

I wish I would have known almost entire menu can be gluten free. Waitress didn’t tell me that until after appetizers were eaten. Nothing is marked gf on the menu. However they cook with rice or potato flour so most everything is safe. Food is amazing. I even had a gf dessert that was awesome. (If they offered gluten free bread it would be heaven. Sadly Charleston doesn’t seem into that feature yet)
Wonderful experience. I require GF (Celiac) and DF. The steaks are seasoned with just salt and pepper. All of their sauces that complement the steaks are GF; some are also DF — just have to ask. My filet mignon was fantastic. My husband got seared ahi tuna, which I was told by the waitress that I could try (he said it was delicious) and another in our party had the calamari, which the waitress said was also GF. There are several vegetable sides to choose from. Overall, the staff was knowledgeable and the menu was terrific. Make a reservation well in advance. We will certainly return on our next trip to Charleston.

lots of GF options- I'm not one for expensive dinners but this was totally worth it; best meal I've had maybe ever. I had the bison with a truffle mushroom risotto- I will be dreaming if that meal for a while!

This is a family run restaurant with amazing food. You will be greeted by one of the family members as soon as you walk in. The staff is knowledgeable and can guide you through their menu! You can have the fried green tomatoes bc they used corn flour! I recommend coming for their Sunday Gospel Brunch, it is a great atmosphere.

Very gluten free friendly, they will also try to make special accommodations if you call ahead.
AMAZING FOOD WITH AN ALMOST ALL GF MENU! Chef and staff are incredibly knowledgeable and the food truly is awesome. Had a filet that was melt in your mouth good and the best creamed corn I have ever had She Crab soup was also amazing (rice flour roux!). They have purposely converted all possible meals to GF.
