Besides being delicious bbq, it was so wonderful to take part in the excitment of the various bbq stations at Hard 8. The staff is so well trained in gluten allergies! EVERYONE I questioned while walking through knew what was and what wasn't gluten containing. The pork ribs were to die for and the bbq sauce was perfect. They cut them on a clean seperate cutting board from other items. My non Celiac daughter enjoyed every bit of gluten she had, especially the mac n cheese. Can't say enough...fun, fun, fun and very yummy!

Always a favorite! I love the beef brisket, sweet potato and regular BBQ sauce. I also have eaten the Cole slaw and not reacted (although it’s not on their GF menu)

Great experience. Had a brisket baked potato with regular bbq sauce and their sweet potato fries. Did not get sick as a celiac. :) will be back.

This place can be good if you’re careful.
The Pork is not gluten free. In the meat cutting area with pork there is a huge amount of cross contamination. But you can get a ribeye which is made in a separate area without gluten
You may be able to ask a manager to get meat from a clean area, but I’m not sure
They have ~5 sides that are gluten free. I had several of them (potato salad, beans, fruit) and did not get sick . I’m celiac and sensitive
The regular bbq sauce is supposedly GF. The spicy is not. They are next to each other. They’re probably okay. I just skipped sauce
Overall, I’d say you can eat here but it is more risky if you choose some items vs others. You’re probably safer earlier in the night and or on a less-busy night. It is good food. I would come back.

I'm a very sensitive Celiac and ate the brisket and turkey with the traditional bbq sauce. It was awesome and I did not get sick. I will be back, yummy!
meats and sauce are GF! They have a list behind the register of what is GF.
No
Staff was not educated what gluten free is. None of the barbecue sauces are gluten free and I asked if the beans were GF, and he said they have meat in them so they are not GF. :(
Great BBQmajority of the items available are gluten free ..... to include thier fabulous house bbq saucestaff is helpful and aware of gluten free needs
Like the other reviews have said, excellent BBQ and they take great precautions to try to ensure no cross contamination. I had the brisket and ribs and I also tried the potato salad, jalapeño cream corn and the beans. The corn is mediocre, but the other sides are good. The brisket and ribs were great! And I like their original BBQ sauce too. *** There is no dedicated fryer, so no French fries or sweet potato fries for Celiacs. *** There are less expensive options for BBQ, but none that beat the flavor and definitely none that beat the friendly, well trained staff. I’ve been to two locations and the staff has been wonderful at both.

Hard 8 in Stephenville was delicious. The staff was well versed in Celiac and what is GF. I had the brisket, coleslaw, and the pinto beans. All very good!

Was told on the phone: all meat except pulled pork (soaked in beer), potato, sweet potato, (but fries not safe due to oil contamination), potato salad, corn, pinto beans, coleslaw, BBQ Sauce ok (not the spicy).
Good Texas BBQ. The pulled pork is NOT gluten free. So when I realized this and saw them cut the pulled pork on the cutting board in front of me, cross contamination was a HUGE concern.
But then when I explained I had celiac disease they took a lot of precautions.
1.) They traded out the knife with a new knife. 2.) They traded out the tongs with new tongs. 3.) They brought out a new cutting board.
I put my food on a separate tray as well and all of the sides inside are individually packaged so I wasn’t concerned inside with cross contamination.
Great food and I appreciated their efforts once I told them I had celiac disease.
