Knowledgable re: celiac and cross contamination, good GF options, have GF things (including Mac & cheese) on the kids’ menu. Not entirely 100% sure how good they are at CC since I always feel a bit off after but I usually just attribute that to eating too much. HA! Overall the food is great, the service is always pretty slow. I would say that it’s because we usually have a table for 8-10 but my husband and I went alone once and it was still slow.
A friend and I went here for my birthday. I am a celiac and do not eat out. I'm too scared. The manager heard us talking to the hostess and stepped right in saying, they change gloves, use separate pans, knives. Our waitress will flag our ticket. You're safe with us. They do not fry anything here. The waitress was so caring, understood my fears and she had the head chef come out and speak to me. He wanted to hear from me exactly what I could not eat and asked if I was allergic to anything at all on top of the celiac. During our meal the manager would come over to check on us. I got a decaf cappuccino after our meal, but for my meal I ordered the Thai Shrimp salad and Grass Fed Burger. You can sub a side for an upcharge if you do not want the side salad that comes with the burger. They do use a GF roll, I decided not to have a roll ( personal choice). They also gave my friend and I free dessert. Birthday celebration. I think if you're like me and do not trust any kitchen but your own and finally decide to go out, I would try here. They do use canola oil to pan fry the shrimp, next time I'd ask for ghee and olive oil. I'm trying to not eat seed oils. I was too nervous and forgot to ask. The lighting was dim. You don't have to dress up. ( You can if you wish to) It was clean and they have an open style kitchen. The menu is seasonal.
Another wonderful experience at Harvest Seasonal Grill. My wife has celiac, and it takes minimal cross-contamination for her to become ill. Today was the fifth or sixth time we have frequented this fine establishment and had a wonderful safe meal. The staff is excellent in making sure you are safe. The meal was magnificent. It is a little pricy but I truly feel it is worth it for great food and peace of mind. I highly recommend Harvest Seasonal Grill.
Celiac with a very strict gluten free diet- I ordered a gluten free pizza and fries a few months ago and I was completely fine. I ordered gluten-free macaroni and cheese tonight with a side a fries. I never received the fries and I ate half of the mac & cheese, then had a gluten reaction…
I feel very safe eating at Harvest Seasonal Grill. My servers have always been very knowledgeable and if they do not know the answer to a question I have, they find out. The gluten free mac and cheese is amazing! I love their flatbreads and also the grilled chicken sandwich. Highly recommend Harvest!!
Impressive! I was surprised to see all the items marked gf. I spoke to our server about my Celiac Disease. She made me feel at ease with my meal. I ordered the crabmeat sandwich with a small salad. I shouldn’t have ordered the sandwich because the roll immediately fell apart. The crab cake was delicious. We also shared a flat bread gf pizza. It was good! We will definitely go back!
Not gluten free, my son took one bite of their “GF” entree and we were in the emergency within an hour with a severe allergic reaction.
Unfortunately, this place is not all that it is worked up to be. I specified to the waiter that I have Celiac disease and I cannot have any gluten. She said she would tell the cook. I ordered the taco once again stating gluten free. They came out looking very white and at first I thought ok maybe it is with cassava flour, so I asked again are these gluten free. They said yes and once I took a bite I could tell they were flour because of how soft they were. So I asked if she could confirm they are gluten free and she said yes they're corn. That's when I said absolutely not, they are not corn based. Turns out the kitchen messed up and gave me flour tortillas even though I said gluten free 4x. It's not worth the risk in my opinion. I won't be coming back here. ,,
Definitely recommend. Excellent food. Harvest flatbread was underwhelming, but everything else was excellent. I felt completely safe, even before the waitress brought my drink with a plastic straw instead of their usual paper straws, as she was fairly sure the paper had gluten in the glue holding the paper together. Lots of vegan options, too, and good beer and wine selection.
This place is amazing! It’s rare that you can find a place with gf appetizers, meals, & desserts. Burgers, eggplant parm, cauliflower wings, scallops, pizza, & crab cakes are just a few of the delicious & safe meals I’ve had. The dessert shots are so scrumptious as well. The chocolate shot & KandyCake dessert shot are my two favorites. For kids they gave GF pasta & Mac n cheese, non fried French Fries, & citrus rice. I highly recommend you try here! Server Lauren is very knowledgeable about celiac & great with kids!!
Very inclusive! Many gluten free options that taste good. The staff is on top of allergies and courteous. Servers communicate well with kitchen staff. Ate there twice with no stomach reactions. Just a little pricey, but the ingredients are all local and fresh so it’s worth it!
We have been going to Harvest for 2 years since my daughter was diagnosed with celiac. Staff are very knowledgeable and careful about allergies and gluten. They will make modifications to meals and have good suggestions for substitutions. The menu is seasonal and the food is fabulous!!
Told the waitress how we just figured out 6 months ago that I have a high intolerance for gluten. Explained that we were excited to find somewhere that had so many gluten-free options. Also when ordering reiterated that I wanted the gluten-free dish. I’m not sure what had the gluten in it but I got very sick immediately. Totally disappointed.
Follow up review: went back again last week and again great, careful, service. I have a reservation for the coming week for family holiday dinner.
Please note, half the menu says GF, make sure to tell your server this is what you need. Some dishes can be prepared with or without.
When making a reservation, the hostess asked if there were any dietary needs. Great sign. Upon arrival, hostess assured me that I would be taken care of. Waiter (Kevin) and food runners were very precise to make sure I got the correct food and options every time they came to the table. They definitely took "Celiac Disease" as seriously as it needs to be taken. I had no issues. This will be my go-to restaurant going forward.
Told them 3x I had a severe gluten reaction. Was immediately served gluten flatbread. Manager kept trying to get me to sign off on paperwork instead of going home to be sick. Beware.
Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar was born of a desire to create a dining experience that focused on sustainable, health-conscious, and locally-sourced cuisine.American restaurant, wine bar, farm to table, organic
Most amazing place ever! Celiac friendly!! Knowledge staff! Great Menu.
The atmosphere is lovely, they even have GF items on the menu. Unfortunately the GF breakfast sandwich which I had for brunch today made me sick. I was excited when the server said I could even have a gf bun ... I don't think it was glutenfree.
Loved it!!! Great atmosphere and they have a pretty good gluten free menu. I never had a problem.
First time ordering here. Husband ordered GF flatbread. I picked it up on my way home and later that night he was so sick. We are very new to celiacs (a few weeks) and still learning. The box was labeled GF (handwritten) and we had a great experience at another location in NJ. When looking at the menu we realized they prepared the flatbread completely wrong and it was a regular flatbread. I understand mistakes happen but to even labeled the boxes as GF is worrisome. Really disappointed as we thought this was going to be a new trustworthy option. They insist they gave us the right food regardless of the photos online being different. Husband ended up in the ER due to dehydration and they were very rude and unhelpful when trying to get to the bottom of this.
They are farm to table and everything is good. There are tons of gluten free options. The Maryland crab and queso dip with naan was amazing. I got an extra one to take home. The crab cakes with lemon tartar were really good too. They even had gf desserts. I got the peanut butter Kandy kake yum. Only downside is it’s noisy.
I am a symptomatic celiac. I recently visited with a friend (not gluten free) and ordered lunch. Before even taking our orders our server asked if we had any food allergies and made sure to note it for the kitchen staff.
I tried the gluten free flatbread with ricotta and honey, which was delicious.
I also got the Thai Tuna, which was also spectacular. The tuna was done perfectly and the rice and sauce was tasty as well.
Everything that can be sourced locally is, and they have local farms they have partnered with for most of the ingredients. This place has many healthy options to pick from.
I felt fine afterwards, no issues with the food.
I would absolutely recommend!
