I don't know that i would return. I asked for a turkey sandwich on GF bread as that's an option.. They brought me sandwich on regular bread. I so happened to ask if it was GF before touching it and the waitress said "no ma'am you need to specify that when you order" I advised to her that i did specify.... sigh.. They remade it to GF however i am CERTAIN they just swapped bread and there was cross contamination because I got sick anyways... Probably wont return anytime soon..
I ate there on a Saturday morning in June and they were packed! The service was fast and friendly. They had a gluten free cheesecake called The Elvis that was really good, and gluten free toast. I got the Louis Armstrong breakfast, which was eggs, potatoes and bacon with GF toast. It was good but not worth the 20 mile drive from Port Aransas. I was disappointed that they didn’t have GF waffles or other pastries. The good news is that I’m celiac and didn’t get sick!
El campo scramble gluten free with gf potatoes Swiss cheese and veggies. Great gf white toast with fresh fruit on the side. Lattes are wonderful. Outdoor patio is cute with lots of green plants, a fountain and little black birds chirping all over. Fiancé and I are both celiac, they took our food as an allergy and were very confident in making it. Obviously it was not their first time. Lots of bacon options. He got a goat cheese bacon omelet with some sort of garden red hot sauce on top. He loved it. Order at the counter then sit down and they bring it to you. Coffee shop cafe. In a cute little boutique strip mall.
Immediately upon ordering they asked if it was allergy or preference! They knew how to handle the allergy and were very attentive!
A lot of the menu can be made GF by substitute. They have Gf toast and other options.
The staff is incredible!
They no longer have gluten free pasta, but substituted quinoa. Luckily I’m not celiac or it would have been a real issue when they served me with bread on my plate. Food was good otherwise.
