Very disappointed. There were no GF options marked anywhere but when I asked the waiter if there was any flour in the mussels broth, he immediately asked if I was GF. I said I was and he gave me all the info. I was so excited and ordered the mussels appetizer and a Caesar salad without croutons (he said this before I could) and grilled shrimp on top. Someone else ran out food out to us and the salad had croutons on it. I said before she could put it down, I was so sorry but I was GF. She stared at me for five full seconds then took it back. I watched her pull the shrimp skewer off the salad and ask someone else to fix it. They brought it back out but the skewer looked different so I figured I was wrong. But I found a crouton in the middle of the salad after I took a few full bites. Thankfully I did not react, but VERY disappointed on how they promised they were GR but one runner/server didn’t care enough to make it safe. While the mussels were delicious, taste of the salad was not worth the scare, and my non GF friend was disappointed in her salad as it was missing ingredients it should have had! NOT at all worth the hype it had online.
Wow, despite visiting Sedona frequently, we only just found this amazing restaurant. Nate, his wife, and the team are amazing and are very conscientious about adapting to food allergies and preferences. I think The only things on the menu that can’t be made GF are the meatballs. Just about everything else either is GF of can be made GF. Our friends had the gf pizza with peaches and pancetta - unique and delicious. We had one of the 3 crostini options, and the antipasto salad. And the flourless chocolate cake (really fudgy deep chocolate) which was also fantastic. We will be back to try the GF gnocchi and soups. Delicious and nutritious food, oh and with fantastic views if you go before sunset. Highly recommend!
Enjoyed our meal at the bar. Very busy. The gf white pizza was amazing. Baked on a separate pan but same oven but I did not get sick. Views of red rocks and valley. Will come again as several gf options
The menu is not labeled correctly. It makes it look like pizza is the only GF option. They actually have a lot of safe foods! We even had GF bread with the caprese salad.
Many items can be prepared gf, but our server told me they do not do anything to prevent cross contamination.
The gluten free products they use are all basic stuff, the sort that is available in any major supermarket. I had a gluten free chicken wrap and it was not good; the wrap hardened quickly and crumbled apart. Just the lowest common denominator for gluten free substitutions being passed off with a high upcharge.
The view is gorgeous, but the restaurant was just ok.
After reading several online reviews we looked forward to dining here. The pluses: * staff was friendly & welcoming, views from our outside table were breath-taking, and our waiter seemed knowledgeable about gf & safety -----Negatives: after ordering and stressing that I'm celiac and need to be very careful about cross-contamination I ordered a shrimp dish. ----when my meal arrived I noticed the bread on my dish looked identical to my husband's dish which was not gluten free. I immediately asked our waiter if my dish was celiac safe, which he then went back to double check with the chef. He apologized, the bread on my dish was not gf. He took the dish away and promised a safe replacement. When the waiter returned he promised it would be safe. I cautiously ate my mal, which tasted good but my fear was very high. If I ever go back with friends I will dine before going.
Beautiful view from outside covered deck area and the best gluten free gnocchi with shrimp I’ve ever had. The sauce was amazing.
I ordered the gluten free shrimp gnocchi and I thought it was really good! My mom ordered the gluten free Alfredo and it came with a penne noodle. I tried it and thought that was good too. The view was beautiful and the outdoor seating was lovely.
The view is the best part about this restaurant. We had a gluten free pizza & the gluten free chicken Alfredo. Both were just okay and way overpriced. Service was not great.
A fair amount of GF options. My celiac husband had the chicken and felt it was excellent. They even made my son a GF Caesar side salad with GF croutons! Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Beautiful location too! Sit outside if you can to take in the views.
Hideaway House was an ok experience. On paper it seems that there are tons of gluten free options! Upon dining there, as a very sensitive celiac, I found out the pasta is not cooked in separate water and there are no pre cautions taken with the pizza. I had greats apps and a sandwich with canyon bread. Wasn’t bad. Not sure if my waitress was not knowledgeable or if other reviewers did not have as much of a sensitivity!
They have many gluten free options and staff is well educated on Celiac’s Disease.
Went here twice on our trip so far. First time I got the sausage and peppers sandwich on a GF bread. Bread got soggy but was very good. Would probably be better with a less saucy sandwich. Second trip I got their white pizza and they don’t charge for gf crust! Was amazing. Staff was very nice and let me know that their fries may not be gf because they get different brands a lot due to shipping complications so it’s always changing.
I had read good reviews so we tried this. My son is 11 with Celiac and very picky. He had gotten glutened several times the days prior at the Grand Canyon, so I was desparate to get a good meal into him. This place lived up to the reviews. When the waiter brought out our food, he was about to set the dish of pasta in front of my son and then pulled it back and said ' wait -- this pasta looks different and I'm not sure it is gluten free. Im' going to go back and check'. He then returned confirming it was gluten free, explaining they had changed the brand and the size was different and that was how he used to easily tell the difference. I was so pleased he took that precaution proactively. I would definitely return here (and the views are amazing).
This place has amazing views! Server was very knowledgeable. The servers practically run around because it is such a large space for them to work so I got worried and was on high alert. I got the shrimp and gnocchi, when it came out I asked about the bread on the dish, the server immediately picked it up and said that is was not gf and that he was going to have them make it from scratch again. Not a quick dish to remake but he kept checking in with us until it was made. Then it came out and there was bread on it but it was gluten free, and it tasted SO good! The gnocchi were amazing too. When we were finished he said he was going to check on desserts and my husband and I declined but he did mention that if they haven't already, they will be switching some desserts to offer gluten free dessert options (multiple options!).
Great experience here! When I asked about celiac, the waitress told me that they weren’t a celiac certified kitchen and she wouldn’t recommend eating here. However, after I asked a few more questions she brought out the manager, who told me they make every effort (separate utensils, gloves, pans for pizzas, etc) to avoid cross contamination, but because they’re not dedicated GF and use the same oven they’re not celiac certified. That assuaged my fears and I ate here safely! Delicious pizzas (highly recommend the peach pizza) and great happy hour.
We came to Sedona on a day trip and stopped in at the hideaway house. The service was fantastic. Our server was very knowledgeable about what on the menu was gluten free. We insured that there was no cross contamination and the fryer was shared. I got the Sedona club and the kats way pizza! Everything was fresh and delicious. Not to mention the beautiful view that accompanied us. Definitely Would recommend and come back next trip to Sedona.
My daughter and I visited. We waited about 15 mins at about 6:15 when we got there. They have great options for gluten free people. Pizza. Any pasta and bread. Very knowledgeable about gluten free issues. When they offered dessert they only offered the gluten free dessert. Friendly servers and great atmosphere.
Got the pasta pomodoro with chicken and they gave me gf bread instead of their focaccia and it was amazing! My boyfriend had the Alfredo which was a little bland but pomodoro was full of flavor! Huge portion sizes! Took half of it home 😊
Excellent service and amazing food! I recommend the restaurant to anyone avoiding gluten. They have a very knowledgeable staff and very well prepared food!
Our waitress was very knowledgeable about what could be made gluten-free and how. The menu also clearly stated what could be made gluten free, (which was almost all of the menu!) the food was very good and the view of the mountains was equally as amazing!
Tanya was a great waitress, the view is unbelievable and the prickly pear margarita is a must!
wow, where do I start? My friend & I are both GF and wow.. This place is amazing!! She had the Sedona Club sandwich and they toasted it for her even though it says CHILLED.(bold letters and everything) She said it was absolutely delicious! I had the Kats Way pizza with GF crust and oh my goodness I wish they had pizza this unique and delicious where I live! Incredibly delicious!! I highly recommend this place for GF food!!
also, highly recommend the Pricly Pear Lemonade!! so worth the price! it reminded us of the best flavor of Starburst lol.
The food was INCREDIBLE and our waitress was very knowledgeable about the GF options! Will 100% go back!!
They have a great gf menu.
This was a great place to eat ! The view is awesome. I had the Italian grinder , on the best gf bread.Their French fries were great! My family all loved their non gf dinner items. The only down fall was almost an hour wait. They then placed us in the back , we were forgotten. (I think) service was not great. One of the best meals on our trip!
Food was so so delicious. I had gluten free minestrone soup that was awesome. And dessert was a coconut macaroon cookie with coconut ice cream and drizzled in ghirardelli chocolate. Staff was super friendly and went out of their way to accommodate.....pulling out chair for me and all. Was back in Sedona late September 2019......visited this great restaurant twice in a week. Everything was awesome and staff person remembered us from our January 2019 visit. Had bruschetta gluten free.....with ricotta cheese and strawberries....Wow!
Gluten free bread, pasta, gnocchi, and even some dessert options. Menu was marked, and waiter confirmed I had celiac. Beautiful view, too!
No specific gluten free menu but they do have gluten free bread for sandwiches and gluten free pizza. Polenta tower appetizer also gluten free. Watermelon and feta salad was AMAZING. All food was delicious and server was very nice to ask the cook all my questions.
Staff was very kind, food is delicious- had a GF Sedona Club was big enough for two meals and so satisfying. Highly recommend for GF folk!
Got seated right away and was greeted with smiles and a very knowledgeable waitress! This place is fantastic!
This place is amazing! The best GF dinner that I had in a long time!! They even serve homemade GF bread that is amazing!
