Wow! The Food was fantastic. Everything on the menu was clearly marked as to what was safe and what wasn’t. The wait staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. The owner, Will, came over a few times just to check in and make sure everything was good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

So good. Most of the menu is gluten free, the fried stuff is not. It’s quick and easy. The restaurant small and everyone is super friendly.

Everything on the menu is marked as to whether it contains gluten or not. Both sauces are GF. Owner is really friendly and gave my daughter a candy stick instead of the moon pie that came with dinner. We left stuffed and didn't get sick. IMHO, the brisket was delicious. Ribs fell off the bone.

Great food and our waitress Melissa was awesome. She was knowledgeable and that makes such a difference. To know they are taking it seriously. Will definitely come again.

Pleasant digs and pleasant staff. Accommodating to our large group for early dinner. Menu items with gluten clearly marked and easy to navigate for those of us avoiding gluten.

It's Ok BBQ once you get tired of all the great seafood around OBX. Menu clearly marked so that's a plus. I've had better elsewhere but this is fine for where it is.

Excellent BBQ. Staff is very knowledgeable about GF, although side options are limited. Best baked beans I've ever had.

Excellent service and good food. Gluten free choices clearly marked. Large portions. Recommend the pulled pork but all good. Try the Brunswick stew as a side.

First of all, this is THE BEST BBQ in the Outer Banks. We've been coming here for 7 years and have tried them all. You I'll not believe the amazing BBQ and the quantity of food you get for such reasonable prices. They have many menu items which are gluten free. Our waiter was incredible and once we let him know about our daughter's Celiac, he made sure to keep her food from getting cross-contaminated. She had the smoked chicken, green beans and apple sauce. And when all of the other kids in our group got moon pies (gluten) when we were leaving, they also had a gluten-free candy stick for her so she wasn't left out. If you are in the Outer Banks and want some good BBQ, you have to try High Cotton.

I ordered the BBQ pork, cole slaw, and Brunswick stew to-go. Ate it on a few occasions throughout the week and never had any issues.

Ate lunch here. Very conveniently located across the street from the Hilton garden Inn. Very quick and inexpensive. Meat was tender and the baked beans were good. The coleslaw and Brunswick stew were a little bland. We have really good BBQ near us in PA and tend to like a sweeter sauce. We found the sauces here a bit spicy/salty. No dedicated French Fry fryer so not many side options for a picky 13 year old. Very sensitive Celiac daughter didn't have a reaction to BBQ chicken and pulled pork (with no sides).

Everything containing gluten is clearly marked with a wheat symbol. The food was excellent, and customer service was superb. We purchased Matt's chicken BBQ sauce to bring a taste of High Cotton's home with us.

I had a salad with the BBQ chicken on top. I didn't get sick there so that's good. The food came out quickly. The waiter wasn't too great or seemed concerned about my allergy (which made me really nervous after ordering). But the food was good at a good price.

The meat is amazing, but there were very few sides to choose from. It would be great for take out, but probably won't go back for a sit-down meal. Also, for some reason the potato salad (a seasonal item) was not gluten free.

This restaurant has a menu that details which items are gluten free and which items aren't. The baked beans, which were surprisingly gluten free, were delicious and the pulled pork was good, too. Overall, it was a decent experience. I'm only giving it 4 out of 5 stars because the servers weren't very friendly, although the management was very professional and attentive at the start and end of the meal.
