If you are going to Mt Airy for this bakery, don't bother. We made a special trip to get gluten free treats after a vacation in Blacksburg, VA. We were SO disappointed! They make it sound like this is some type of gluten free bakery. Ugh it's so sad. The few sad items they had at 11:30 (right when they opened) were NOT fresh at all and looked dry and at least a couple of days old. The first time we walked in we stood there for 5 minutes with no one greething us. We came back about 20 minutes later thinking they would be stocking fresh items. Nope. I asked about pie and they told me they had frozen pie. Really?? 🤬 Anyway, don't get your hopes up for this place. You will leave sad.

Not really a special GF bakery. The ice creams are all normal scoop out of the tub style and no extra precautions. I did try a piece of their cake and it was awful. Tasted off and texture reminded me of the original GF cake batters I used to try to make that tasted like sand. They definitely overhyped their advertising as GF

Zero stars would be my choice. Visited this bakery August 15, 2019. It is NOT SAFE for celiacs. There is a regular bakery and a “gluten free” side with a huge open window in between. The gluten free baked goods are wrapped which was an indicator that the facility was not dedicated. I asked about the flour used and the person behind the counter had no clue. The baker only told me that many flours were used and she couldn’t tell me which were used in which products. I then said, “but the ice cream is gluten free correct?” The answer is a resounding NO!! The cookies and cream regular ice cream tub was right next to and in contact with the supposed gluten free ice cream. I left. Nothing in there is safe! There were numerous gluten filled items right next to the gluten free...and the counter person had no clue about cross contamination. We drove hours out of our way to go to this supposed dedicated facility only to leave with nothing. I would never expose myself to that level of cross contamination. So so so disappointed.

We stop here almost weekly for ice cream. My son loves that he has lots of GF ice cream options and their GF cones are so good. I always make sure they know to change gloves and use a separate ice cream scoop. No issues so far! We love it!

We bought cinnamon rolls, Death by Chocolate cake and cupcake and a loaf of bread. I was not impressed by the cake, cupcake or the bread. All was very dense. The cakes had a stale texture. The bread was inedible and almost had a doughy bite. Only thing I can gather is that the flour blend had way too much rice and xanthan gum and the recipes didn’t add sour cream, extra eggs or other moistness adding ingredients. Very disappointed. Gluten free products have come a lot further than these products in the last decade. I can buy a better loaf of bread or cake mix at my local grocery store.

I will say the cinnamon rolls were good after microwaving and toasting.

We stopped in here just for a cup of coffee while we were here we learned this was a gluten free bakery so we decided to try the cherry pie, brownie and raisin bread. 😍 The owner was so nice she warmed up our pie for us to enjoy here. It was delicious.

She also told me about this app. 😀

This is some of the best gluten-free food we have ever had! The cinnamon rolls were to die for, the brownies are rich and luxuriously delicious, the cake and pie tastes completely like the best you would get anywhere else, and the dinner rolls reminded me of regular homemade dinner rolls from my childhood - chewy and slightly sweet. Miss Angel is passionate about her baking and told us we could order anything from her "regular" bakery next door in gluten free form. We were visitors from out of town and felt very welcomed in this shop!!
