My daughter is a student at SUNY Cortland, just around the corner from the Hollywood Diner. She had avoided it last year because it didn't seem like the sort of place that was likely to be safe.
This year, during move-in, we decided to give it a try. I am glad we did.
We were told that the owner's daughter has celiac so they are well trained in providing safe meals. They do have a separate gluten free menu. I asked if they change the water when cooking GF pasta and the woman said "of course". They do not have a dedicated fryer so the french fries are not an option.
My daughter had a chicken dish with a side of pasta (rotini) and alfredo sauce plus a caesar salad and really enjoyed it. (She did take some of the pasta home as it was a fair amount of food.)
Overall, it was a good experience and I'm really glad she has another option for eating out besides Brix and Applebee's.

Bacon cheeseburger was very good and they offered the standard gluten free bun. Wait time to get food was a bit long but not horrible. Would rate them 4 1/2 stars if I could.

Gluten-free pasta is available for an extra charge. Our waitress said they were very familiar with the needs of people with celiac disease. Excellent menu, excellent service in this family-owned business. Highly recommend.

Excellent Italian food with good GF choices. They have a separate GF menu. Wait staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and responsive. Can’t wait to go back on my next trip to Cortland.
