Has the word Korean BBQ experience. Was told I could only have three meats on the menu — all the marinated ones were not gf (or at least that’s what waiter said). So left with beef filet, beef tongue, and lamb something. The meat came out and the filet looked like bacon with so much fat. The meat was grey and the toughest I’ve ever had. Pretty close to inedible. Everyone at table agreed this was worst meet ever. I also was advised I could have none of the sauces. So for $45 I had rice and a couple bites of leather meat. Had to get food from another place afterwards. Complained and was able to get half off for one person but there were not very understanding. There are many many many other better Korean BBQ places in the city!
The wait staff was very knowledgeable as to what I could eat and they even have bottled sauces to prevent cross-contamination. Like another reviewer mentioned, the only broth they recommend if you're eating GF is the vegetable broth which is, unfortunately, not very flavorful. But since I was with family, it was good knowing that nothing I ate would cause me to react!
Had a bad experience here. The only broth available gluten free is the vegetable one, which is literally just hot water and a some vegetables, no flavoring whatsoever. The server was not knowledgeable about gluten free options. He told me the vermicelli noodles were not gluten free. But since they normally are, I asked him to double check and he came back said they were. My friend has a nut allergy and initially the server said that the only nut free broth was the vegetable one. Which again we had him check and was not true. When I asked if any of the sauces were gluten free, the server said “I don’t think so” but some of the sauces included pure sesame oil so it seemed like he just did not know and did not want to go check. He did offer me gluten-free soy sauce which I used to make my own sauce. The ordering process was confusing so my food ended up on the same plate and touching food with gluten, which was in part my fault for not specifying. Overall, the hot pot was very expensive for a an incredibly disappointing experience. Can you eat here with celiac? Probably. But it won’t be flavorful or easy.
