I stayed at the hotel for a week with my family for the Easter break. Me and my daughter are both celiac and I am also intolerant to dairy (casein). It was our first time in an all-inclusive.
Our experience at the Riu was just perfect. We ate so much good things at the buffet and at the restaurants. We had tons of choices and in one week, we did not have enough time to enjoy everything we wanted. Be assured : you won’t be served only salad all week long. We enjoyed pretty much the mexican restaurant and ate great tacos and fajitas. We also had pizzas, burgers, steaks, pastas, fish and seafood. Everything delightful. You can find something safe to eat at anytime of the day (and night). The staff also prepared us wonderful exclusive deserts.
The staff of the hotel is so dedicated and well intended. Everyone was repeating to me that they wanted us to have the best experience. At the buffet, what I did is just go directy to speak with any chef (they have big chef hats easy to spot) and tell them that I wanted a dedicated plate because I am celiac. Since my second language is spanish (english my third), I did speak spanish with the staff all the time so I think it was helpful to have a good connexion with them. Everyone was so friendly. The best who helped us were Carlos (the chef of all chefs), Maria, Alberto, Delio and Nicolas (chefs) and Mendez (the lead waiter of the dining buffet). I would return anytime.

I have to explain my allergies to the best of my ability and my celiac disease. However, the staff at this all inclusive resort is incredible! Victor, wilbert, Maria... I’m here on the second day of my trip and I am finding that I can safely eat and drink here and it means the WORLD to me. I’m truly in paradise! Staff last night made me a beautiful fruit butterfly since I could not have dessert! Wonderful wonderful staff! Highly recommend!
