The cook staff take reasonable precautions by cleaning the grill, but with the way the ingredient/sauce bars are set up (with people slopping everything around), getting glutened is pretty much a guarantee.
Tell your server that you have celiac and they will give you paper/pen to write what ingredients you want for your meal, they’ll prep it in back, and grill it on a special spot on the grill. They also have an allergen menu although they forgot to include their salad dressings on it so I went with squeeze of lemon.
Hardly anyone on a staff was knowledgeable about which sauces were gf. Asked for gf soy sauce and it took two tries to get it. Gluten free noodles were right next to the wheat noodles so I avoided them. In spite of telling them I'm gf and trying to be cautious in my choices, I got glutened. I had a much better and safer experience in the Spanish Fork location.
Lots of options and all their sauces are gluten free. I don’t eat noodles anyway so I don’t care about the gf options. They scrub down a section of the grill for you and use separate utensils. The only downside is having to wait longer for your food but it’s worth it!!
You choose your meat, toppings and sauces. All sauces are labeled if they are peanut, soy or wheat sensitive. They have special bowls signifying your sensitivity. The chefs clean the grill and separate your food from any other guest with barriers. They cook your food using separate spatulas. There are a ton of options for any sensitivity!!
This place is awesome. As someone with celiacs I have a hard time eating out sometimes. They have plenty of gluten free options, and when I told them I couldn’t have gluten they scrubbed the grill super good and made a dedicated space to grill my food. The staff was superb I highly recommend!
The manager Abby is AMAZING. She walked me through the steps of how the place works (1st time) and they cleaned the grill (they have a procedure everyone is educated on) and got my ingredients from the back. A chain gem and staple!!!!!!!!! I’m so fricken excited
this place is awesome
Staff took extra care to protect my food from cross contamination. Staff gives you a whit plate to distinguish your food during prep, they use new spatulas and do an extra cleaning of the grill. Manager expressed that they use GF soy sauce to make all sauces. We will definitely return!!!
Great GF options. Waitress was very knowledgeable.
Staff was not knowledgeable of what contained gluten and had to go ask, but once they confirmed what was safe, it was a good experience. They'll clean the grill and separate it from touching anything else. There are rice noodles and even gluten free soy sauce! (You have to ask for it) I have celiac and didn't get sick.
Their employees do not understand cross contamination at all. I got sick within 15 minutes of eating and my husband saw (after I already had gotten my food and eaten) the employee refilling the noodles and veggies stick her gloved hand in the regular noodles and then immediately touch the gluten free noodles and vegetables. If you are allergic or celiac stay away. It is really too bad because the grill chefs really try hard by cleaning grill completely.
Menu:Their online menu states that while almost all sauces contain wheat they have been processed to meet FDA standards for gluten free foods, however, I'm not sure I trust it. In the store the menus gave full ingredients of the sauces and they almost all contained soy sauce. Additionally, each table contained a bottle of regular soy sauce with a sign that said gluten free soy sauce was available on request. It really makes me doubt that gluten free soy sauce was used in the making of the sauces.Grill:On request, they would "clean" the grill. The cleaning consisted of spraying a designated area with water and scraping it until it ran clear. There was no soap or actual cleaning performed.Cooking:If requested they would use clean utensils and set up a barrier so other food being cooked at the same time wouldn't spill over into yours.Selection:Limited options. They don't have rice as an options to cook with your vegetables but they do have pad thai noodles available. A good selection of vegetables and meats but if you don't trust their sauces are gluten free there aren't many to choose from so food might be a bit bland. Aftermath:I don't know if it was the result of cross contamination, the fact most sauces contained soy sauce, or the food not sitting right but the stomach was not feeling great afterwards. I would avoid if you're at all sensitive to cross contamination.
Not my first choice to eat out but went with co-workers. Very clean and popular. I selected exactly what I wanted and they had all items listed by allergies. I told the cook I was gluten intolerant and he took extra care cleaning the grill, using new utensils and putting a barrier around my cooking food so that there was no cross contamination. Best part I got to enjoy my dinner and not get sick. I’d give it 5 stars if you like Hohhot
I called ahead and spoke with the manager, Caleb James. I was a bit concerned since the stir-fry tables were full of noodles, which are easy for cross contamination. Caleb went over the top to work with me and my extreme sensitivity. He wrote down all my vegetable and meat choices from the table, went in the back kitchen, and created a bowl of fresh vegetables and my protein. He had me choose a GF sauce, scrubbed down an isolated section of the grill, and personally cooked my food to perfection. I rarely eat in an Asian-style restaurant due to the risk, but I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and dining experience. My husband was happy with his (normal) meal too. No reactions, just appreciation. What a treat!
We’ve had good experiences here. You do need to ask for grill to be cleaned. On busy nights, the other food from other bowls do get close to each other (and my husband has had ingredients from other bowls show up in his due to this). I need GF, and I’ve never had an issue. Sauces are techno GF but I stay away from soy sauce based ones just to be safe
The man who helped me (I believe it was the manager?) was very helpful and was able to answer all of my questions. One noodle option is gluten free but had other noodles thrown in accidentally, they were able to get me new noodles from the back! All of their sauces except for the soy sauce is gluten free. I was skeptical since a few of the sauces I used contained soy sauce but I did not get sick!
Always willing to bring out fresh noodles (Pad Thai), oil, and sauce specifically for you if you let them know you have celiac or are gluten intolerant. Every time I've been here it's the manager who cleans a spot on the grill and cooks my food for me - they always use fresh utensils for cooking/serving and block off your food from others on the grill. Obviously there's still a chance for CC but I really feel pretty comfortable eating here. :)
You tell the grill staff you have an allergy and they completely clean the grill! Celiac Daughter and I have not had a reaction as long as grill is cleaned properly! Staff handles the food separate! Always a good place for our food allergy family!
Great if you can't eat gluten. They bring you special bowls so your food can't get mixed up with anyone else's. When the cooks see the bowl, they scrub a section of the grill clean and block it off from the rest of the grill to avoid contamination. All of the signature sauces are made with tamari (GF soy sauce), so I can eat just about anything on the bar. They will also bting bottles of GF soy sauce to the table if you ask. As long as I tell the staff I have Celiacs, I never have to worry about getting sick here.
my son has Celiac and is very sensitive. They have an allergen list. They happily get all of his ingredients from the back to avoid cross contamination. Cooks clean the grill, make a barrier with clean utensils, cook the food inside that barrier using clean utensils and a clean plate to rest the utensils on. Everyone there is super nice about the extra effort and we always feel welcomed even if we are a bit high maintenance. Highly recommended.
Just be sure you understand the difference between the GF sauces and the non GF sauces. They're internal soy sauce we were told by one location is GF, where the sauces made with generic soy sauce are not. But it was a fun and yummy place to eat. They clean the grill and use clean spatulas to prepare your meal.
We have had good luck here. Tell them you have a gluten "allergy", and they'll clean the griddle extra well, set up a "fence" to Cordone off your food, and use a separate spatula for your food. It's also a plus that you fill up your Own plate and watch the cooking process.

Ask for them to clean a spot on grill. They use different utensils and have a list of gluten free sauces.
