Review of Hukilau Lanai

Dining at this restaurant seemed to be safe, our waiter was very helpful and was knowledgeable about the dishes and gluten free options available. I was convinced it was a safe place to eat delicious food. I didn't get sick and very much enjoyed their Candied Fish appetizer... my first experience there was complete heaven, the atmosphere was wonderful!

Now the reason for my 3 stars is because we were convinced this restaurant was well rehearsed with Celiac/gluten allergy protocol. We ordered take out the next day and the salad we ordered contained croutons (which I didn't eat) and I got sick from their Candied Fish appetizer. I should had followed my instinct and not eat anything from there the second time.

So perhaps it's better to stay away from take out and just dine in.
