Nice place in the water at Kanapali but Not much GF options, only a salad and a desert. Fish tacos can be made GF with corn tortilla and no chips because they don’t have a GF dedicated fryer. The server was knowledgeable

I have more than just wheat allergy, which can be a challenge. However, the server we had seemed put out when I was asking questions about items on the menu. An important thing to note—the macadamia crusted mahi-mahi says GF, however he said it has wheat. Server really soured the experience. Meal was average or below—not a lot of flavor

We went for lunch because of the high rating on this app. When we got there there is one gf dish on the lunch menu, a salad that can have fish or chicken added to it. They can alter the fish tacos or a burger to be gf but nothing that is fried as there is only one fryer. The salad was good, the fish was different and I'd probably opt for chicken next time.

Had a wonderful dinner here in 2019, but now in 2023 the selections and taste have gone downhill I think the past few years. We ate in the indoor dining area for dinner, and the waiter and manager were very accommodating and understanding of Celiac. The outdoor area for lunch doesn’t accommodate very well to celiac anymore. I ordered the seafood chowder and it was fine, the meal size for the price is a little small in my opinion and wasn’t anything special as I remember it. All that said, I did have a safe meal and that’s what I care most about.

I ordered the ribs from the appetizer menu (4 ribs) and a side order of vegetables. The veggies were good, but the ribs were outstanding! It was enough for me, especially at 8pm. No reaction.

Let the server know I was celiac and asked which dishes were safe for me.
They had several options to choose from.
I went with the beet salad and grilled fish.
Both were delicious.
Didn’t get sick.
The staff was a mixed bag. Our server was sweet and caring. The hostesses were disinterested.
I can understand the mixed reviews on here. It probably boils down to who you’re served by.

Amazing, awesome experience. I would definitely feel confident in saying it’s celiac-safe. I told my waiter about my “allergy” and he went and got the head chef who asked me if it was an allergy or celiac. He told me he was trained on how to handle celiac-safe food, told me all the precautions they take (change gloves, new pans, etc.). They were able to modify my food to meet my needs, switch out some of the glutinous sides for things safe for me. 10/10 recommend. The food was amazing. I had the ceviche appetizer (they switched out the taro chips for a side of rice), and the fish tacos (corn tortillas in place of flour).

Skip it Sadly saved this for last day- “just changed lunch menu” and only 1 salad and 1 dessert were GF. Asked two servers and hostess for help- no one cared. We left.

The special was a hamburger. It was a good hamburger but $32 was a little high priced. They assured that it was gluten free but I still got a stomach ache. (I’m Celiac).

Delicious! I got the crusted mahi mahi and yum. We also had a ribs appetizer. Wish I had room for dessert.

Servers took great care of family member with celiac. When serving the hummus appetizer they plated the veg and hummus on one plate and put the bread on another plate not near her. She got first dibs which was nice. They also announced which apps were not GF to avoid confusion. GF family member had: hummus and veg, mango bbq rib app, surf and turf (they double checked on sauces) and the GF dessert. She really enjoyed the food, it was safe, and the view is pretty amazing.

Amazing macadamia crusted fish. The server was very knowledgeable about gluten free. They were able to offer many items from the menu gluten free. They also cooked my meal in a clean pan instead of on grill to reduce chance of cross contamination.

Excellent GF meal at Hula Grill. I had Macadamia Nut Crusted Fish with Coconut rice and a wonderful coconut lime sauce. Our server was very knowledgeable. Great choice for Celiac safe meal. Also beautiful location right on the water

The macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi was delicious. Ate here twice on our trip.

Enjoyed several appetizers today—clearly labeled gluten free and the waitress was knowledgeable and even double checked to ensure there was no cross contamination with anything we ordered.

When making the reservation I noted that I had celiac. When I was seated the waiter immediately started a conversation about how they had GF options, and other meals could be altered to be GF. He told me the chef had been informed also, and he would make sure to avoid CC. The manager came out and checked in with me also. We ordered 2 GF items then asked if their Poke tacos could be made GF. They had Tamari sauce, and substituted The wonton taco shells for bowl of rice. Overall I was very impressed. It's it bit pricey ($16 for an appetizer $30-$45 for an entree) but they are super celiac friendly, the food was delicious, and eating with an ocean view at sunset was amazing.

Staff was so knowledgeable food was delicious

My daughter who has celiac had the rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes. She loved it. Waiter confirmed that the meal was gluten free.
Yes
Gluten free is clearly marked on the menu and the servers were knowledgeable. Tried two of the fish dishes and they were amazing.
Food was great, our server was knowledgeable about allergies and assured me the chefs would be careful. Atmosphere is pretty cool, can sit outside on the sand with a great view of the beach
Plenty of GF options and waiter seemed well versed in GF.
Great place with loads of gluten free options, staff very helpful, gluten free bread/buns available for burgers :) really nice restaurant

There was a lot of good food, including a flourless chocolate cake, but most things were gluten-full and the food was a bit expensive.
Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Food was amazing!

Our waiter was very helpful in finding food our daughter could eat. She had the rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes. He even checked if she could have ice cream and caramel sauce. đ

Our server (Bradley) was very knowledgeable about gluten intolerance, cross-contamination, and how to make my experience safe. A great experience and such a relief to know you can enjoy a vacation meal with your husband and not risk becoming ill!
Food is very tasty. The menu does not identify gf items but the waitress was able to guide me. She did need to double check some items, but she was very attentive. Had delicious short ribs!

Although there is not a separate GF menu, many of the entrees are GF or can be modified. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable and gave suggestions. Dessert was Pono Pie which was great. I would be a regular if I lived nearby!

Eaten here many times over several years. The staff has always been knowledgeable and helpful in finding gluten free options. Quality of the food has always been first rate. A favorite when we are in the area.

Not many gf options (mostly red meat). No separate menu but waiter seemed knowledgeable. Didn't each much but still have a little bit of a stomach ache likely from CC.
Had the best chicken I have ever had. The rest of my family loved their food too. Realize there are two menus. One for the dinning room. One for the outdoor area by the ocean. Be sure you know which menu you want so you check in to the right place. Cute mall to walk around while waiting. Beautiful sunset view.

I always ask to speak with a chef because I don't want to get sick so I asked to speak with the chef and he had a horrible attitude. I felt safe enough to eat there but was put off by his demeanor. I didn't feel that great when I left so who knows!
No
Good for regular food but no gluten free kids options so my 5 year old did t eat.
No
They had just changed the menu, so nothing was marked GF, but the waiter was kind enough to go over everything I could eat - which was a decent amount of the menu. I ate the coconut chowder. The broth was out of this world delicious.
Yes
Very good food. Server was knowledgeable about gluten. I had the spicy fish over rice with pineapple salsa and it was delish. Daughter had ribs with a sweet sauce that was pretty good too.
VERY good food and service. All gf items are outlined on the menu. Had ceviche, spicy fish with rice, and their BBQ ribs. All were very good!

Both the outdoor grill and the dining room have gfree menus with a variety of delicious options. The ribeye was magnificent as was the ribs at lunch. The view was spectacular, but it is a little pricey.
Are here for a second time on our second trip to Maui! Macadamia nut crusted fish was amazing!! Great food! Dedicated GF menu and staff was knowledgable about GF.
Yes
Fish tacos in a lettuce wrap is great gluten free entree.
Servers know the GF facts for their dishes.
First night here and I just needed something to eat. We were out at the barefoot beach portion of the restaurant so I don't think the GF options were as many as inside. I got a plain hamburger patty and some steamed rice. Nothing fancy but it filled my tummy and I did not get sick!
Highly recommend!! If you like Thai coconut soup then the Seafood Chowder is a must. So yummy that my non-GF family members were fighting over the leftovers. :) Server was very knowledgeable and brought complimentary taro chips since I couldn't eat the bread.
