We stayed at this hotel and ended up eating both breakfast and dinner here. It is difficult to find other places to eat in Hakone so we were very dependent upon the hotel. I used my gluten free allergy card in Japanese here and then the servers were able to help me find gluten free options. I did a breakfast buffet in the morning and there were cards listing allergens including gluten in front of each buffet item. The staff spoke English but it was more limited here so I definitely recommend bringing an allergy card.
