So excited that ihop now has gluten free pancakes! They only have them in plain but I used the table syrups and loved them with the blueberry. The pancakes are the softest lightest things you’ve ever had. With the blueberry syrup it was just like a blueberry muffin! Loved!
IHOP has recently started serving gluten free pancakes, waffles, and burgers with gluten free buns.
Went 7 miles out of our way to eat here, only to be told, “We don’t have any gluten free batter right now” even though it was proudly advertised on the menu’s cover. Guess I should’ve called before I went.
IHOP has very good GF pancakes and waffles. They claim to be "gluten friendly" but a friend w celiac eats here all the time and has never been sick. This location is not the nicest - wait staff isn't very good and it's often crowded. But it's another GF option downtown.
Excellent service , definitely gluten free.
Staff were friendly and aware of gluten allergy’s. They had a separate menu with gluten free food. I ordered the pancake breakfast and it was pretty good. They let me know that they are not a gluten free facility so there is a chance for gluten cross contamination but they would do their best to clean up and wear gloves.
The staff are very friendly and the food is always so good I always will love this restaurant
The hostess said emphatically, "Yes! We can serve you safely!" But when it was time to order we learned that the "gluten friendly" pancakes are made in the same griddle as regular pancakes and grilled breads. Likewise the "gluten friendly" waffles are made in the same waffle maker as the regular waffles. The staff were kind and gracious, and re-opened a closed grill for our food. But we were there at a lull time so this was possible. Celiac's beware: this place is merely gluten aware and they have no mechanisms in place to prevent cross-contamination. Perhaps this is OK for some GF folks, but not safe enough for me.
My husband is coeliac not me. We went to IHOP on this apps 1 recommendation. They are gluten friendly not free as they can’t meet the required recommendations due to possible cross contamination in kitchen and they state this clearly on menu. However definitely fully versed and understand the issues and possible outcomes. My husband Successfully( meaning no ill health effects post ingestion occurred) had and enjoyed a GF hamburger and GF fries. We will go back to try the GF waffles/ pancakes. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
would give it a zero false advertisement not gluten free or gluten friendly the waitress literally said they put gluten in the mix even in the “gluten friendly” pancakes and waffles
They have gluten free options now!
IHOP has recently added gluten aware items to the menu including gluten free buns, pancakes and waffles, however they are prepared on the same surfaces as gluten bearing products, and as such are only really suitable for those willing to take a risk.Further, there is an inconsistent upcharge for each refill in regards to AYCE products, for example, cmy 4.99 ayce eggs, bacon and pancakes cost 4.99 plus 1.29+1.29 forva total of 7.57. I can see an upcharge but 65c per pancake is excessive.
They finally did it! IHOP has an entire gluten free menu. Pancakes, waffles, hamburger buns! We use to only be able to order omelettes (asking for cracked eggs and not their normal omelette batter because they put pancake batter in it to make them fluffy). We just had the waffles but I’m excited to go back and have pancakes!!!!
I am so excited! IHOP now has Gluten ‘friendly’ waffles, pancakes and buns! I got the Belgian Waffle Breakfast with GF waffle, eggs and bacon. The waffle was awesome! Will definitely be going back. If you are highly sensitive I’m not sure if this will be a good option. I don’t get sick, I only get itchy a week after I’ve eaten something. A chance I’m willing to take for a fluffy delicious waffle.
Well, it’s Saturday afternoon. Pancakes (web site states GF pancakes)sounded good to both of us. After reading some of the reviews we decided to move forward regardless. As we walked in the Hostess loudly announced that “There were twenty tables that needed waiting on and the kitchen had numerous tickets to yet prepare. Be aware that your tickets will be waiting behind all to the others. I can seat you but....” The parking lot was not full, there were a number of empty tables and a line of about 14 people. Most, if not all of the seated tables were waiting to have orders taken. Staff appeared to be moving in slow motion. The kitchen staff was undaunted and maybe careless of the situation? None of that “ Well oiled” appearance one observes in a well managed kitchen. Needless to say, we left. Honestly, this is one if he most poorly managed establishments I have attended in a long time! IHOP, PLEASE GET IT TOGETHER. OVER THE YEARS YOU HAVE BECOME A HOUSEHOLD NAME AND GO TO PLACE! WITH THIS TYPE OF EXPERIENCE....I JUST DO NOT KNOW IF WE WILL COME BACK?
Really good bacon as well, if you tell them your celiac or gluten free , they will bring you out the nutrition book that lists their entire gluten free menu so you can make sure it doesn’t have any gluten in it. Our server was the best! Really friendly place and great coffee and food.
They just got menus in that have gluten friendly on them. They have gluten free buns and gluten free waffles/pancakes.
