This place was very knowledgeable about and understanding about celiac and they went above and beyond when it came to preparing my food safely! They made my burger protein styled with a lettuce wrap and fried my fries in a different vat. They also bagged my food in a separate bag! Wonderful food with knowledgeable and friendly staff!
Hold on to your seats! Everything in the restaurant is gluten free EXCEPT for the burger buns! I have eaten here successfully without getting sick many times now!
When explained to individual taking our order that I am celiac they marked meal to be handled with new gloves and to be kept separate from the rest of order in its own bag. The level of care taken was comforting.
Burger was ordered “protein style”, wrapped in lettuce. And we’ll wrapped I might add. Aside from burger buns there are no risk of cross contamination. No need to worry about fryers, sauces or seasonings. Enjoy!
Eaten here several times and haven’t gotten sick. When you tell them gluten allergy they mark it and automatically do a glove change. Everything is gluten free except the bun. When ordering with others I ask for my food to be in a separate box and they put the fries and burger in its own box so it doesn’t touch my family’s gluten buns.
I got a double- double and fries. I told them I had an allergy and to change their gloves. They made a note. I also asked for no grilled onions and sauce packets on the side to avoid CC. It was delicious, and I did not get sick. It was my first time trying, I think like any fast food joint it’s all dependent on the staff at the location.
As all In N Out locations I have been to, I have never gotten sick at this one in Escondido and the people working there are always very careful and considerate. I feel as safe as anyone can in a non-dedicated dacility. We often even go here over our local dedicated GF location because the burgers and fries are better and cheaper (and we don't eat burgers and fries for health..). Just make sure to order each item with "allergy to gluten". For the burger, the only GF alternative is "protein style" which means lettuce instead of a bun. If you specify gluten allergy they prepare it in a separate area with clean gloves etc.
