They told us that they will not accommodate celiac. They refused to cook the burger in a separate pan or clean the grill. They said that 100% of cooking surfaces are touched by buns and they clearly did not care.

We stayed at the hotel across the street during the Monterey stent of our trip and ate at this location at least 3 times. The service was excellent! I felt like mine and my daughters allergy requests were taken seriously and we never got sick, even when it was super busy. Each time we ordered (at this location and all the other ones across cali) we just said gluten allergy and they have a button for it in the computer.

I was skeptical, but as a very sensitive person I survived. They use a separate pan for our burger.

Order "protein style" to get it wrapped in lettuce

We were excited to try this place out as we have heard such high reviews. My daughter ordered fries and a burger wrapped in lettuce. Her burger came out on a bun. We then asked for a new one wrapped in lettuce. Burger was small and fries were ok. She later got very sick, so we think it was from cross contamination.
No
I have always had good experiences at In-N-Out. Protein-style burgers & fries are safe, and customer service is top notch.
HUGE shout out to the staff at this establishment today. This was my first dine out experience at fast food since being diagnosed with lupus and celiacs. The young lady at the register quadruple checked my order and also verified with the manager and working staff about it coming through. Then once my order came up the manager stood at the counter until it was picked up telling everyone to keep my order seperate from my son and husbands (non gluten free) order. I felt so incredibly safe and can’t say enough how much that meant to me today. Thank you

Very safe with cross contact, ask them to bag items separately and let them know you have a gluten “allergy”. I don’t like that term because it’s not an allergy, but there isn’t always time to explain celiac disease. Lettuce wrapped burgers, fries or a Flying Dutchman (just the patties and cheese with onions), milk shakes, yum! Easy, tasty and no one got sick 🩷

They are the very best fast food for those with celiac disease. Not perfect, but as close as one can get. I have eaten it at least once a week for years at several different locations. I've gotten sick maybe twice out of probably 100 visits. Tell them you have a "gluten allergy" and they handle your food separately. Order your burger "protein style" to get a lettuce wrap. Best lettuce wrap burger around. My go to is a 3X3 protein style with no spread. A 3X3 in a Lettuce wrap is juicy and sloppy enough, you won't miss the spread. Fantastic!
