Ordered a gluten free cake for my birthday. They charged me $79. That’s not a typo. $79! When I arrived to pick it up a week later, the cake order was no where to be found. She said”give me 30 minutes.” When the cake came out it looked like a $12 grocery store cake. I was extremely sick all night after eating it, believing it to be gluten free because THAT’S WHAT I ORDERED AND PAID FOR A WEEK PRIOR.
The cake tasted good but after promising me a gluten free cake, I was VERY sick on my own birthday. They did not deliver the order they promised and I paid for it with my health and my wallet ($79 for a 6 inch round cake).
I really wanted to like this place. The owner is nice but IMO, flaky. She had no idea I had placed an order with her only one week prior, acted like she had never heard of me even tho when I ordered I was in her store for 30 minutes and we chatted about gluten free and the ingredients and tools she uses. She charged me $79 for a 6” round cake, I clearly specified I have Celiac and emphasized “gluten free” during the order. She and I had a whole conversation about how she uses a Nima sensor to check for cross contamination. I believe she forgot about my order then tried to pass off any old cake that was not gluten free. I trusted this business with my health and my money. Silly me. I will never go back. Super disappointed and angry that I couldn’t trust this business to provide a safe treat on my birthday. If you so want to try it, stick tot the cupcakes in the case. At least they are clearly marked. At least her stuff tastes good and it reminded me how good non gf cake can be.
