I was very impressed with their attention to my gluten issues. This is upscale Mexican. Great drinks. I will definitely return.
Not the place for me. Got a terrible headache after eating here (which is one of my symptoms). Tried it again and had the same result.
This place was terrible! And to top it off it made me sick:( I would not recommend it

I was a little worried about this place given the last review but I ended up really liking this place. Yes, the menu is labeled “gluten-free ish” and is followed by a disclaimer that they have a shared kitchen and therefore they can’t 100% guarantee that there won’t be cross-contamination but that’s pretty much every restaurant. All in all, they were much better about knowing exactly what was in each of their recipes than most places. All I had to do was ask about cross contamination levels on things and they could tell me. I am pretty sensitive and had plenty of choices and I did not get sick at all. They DID have a separate fryer for the chips and the salsa was incredible.They even asked if we had any gluten allergies in our group when we walked up to the hostess stand. My only complaint was our waitress kept disappearing which was a little odd.
This place is absolutely amazing!!! The service we received from the hostess a& the waiter was incredible. They were so attentive, friendly & helpful. The atmosphere is really neat too. They have a gluten-free menu and are very knowledgeable. I had so many choices to select from, which is very unusual being gluten free. I had the shrimp that was wrapped with bacon & stuffed with jalapeño and cheese and it was amazing! The rice and beans are also gluten-free and the two sauces were delicious as well. I will definitely be back when traveling here in Dallas again.
Waitress was pretty knowledgeable, had a separate menu. However, chips and fries are fried in a shared fryer so both are off the table for true celiac. She knew this and told me so, though. The manager brought over a free sample of something in phyllo cups for our first visit. I knew I couldn’t eat them, but my husband just ate both.
Great options on the gluten free-ish menu. I was so happy to see a long list and variety of offerings after several days of small lists at other Riverwalk restaurants. They even had a non ice cream dessert option- chocolate mousse (it was delicious!!) Everything tasted great and it felt so nice to be able to eat 'regular' food. A little bit slow on service but that may have just been our waiter. The food was worth it.
We had table side guacamole and wonderful, tasty, and huge gluten free entrees. We were too full for the GF dessert (chocolate mousse) but I'm sure it's divine. Staff was extremely knowledgeable and well aware of cross contamination. Our server was Lydia and she was SUPERB!!
Ordered from the GF menu, explained I couldn't have fried items because of the contamination and declined tortilla chips for that reason. I still got sick. Their gluten free menu is actually "gluten free-ish" and they say their fried items are cooked in a shared fryer but apparently they're still included in the gluten free-ish menu. Even if I wasn't sick right now, the food wasn't that great. I expected better quality for the price. Service was great though, our server was super nice.
I attended a company sponsored event at this restaurant. The buffet they had chosen only allowed me to eat chips and guacamole. The server was very knowledgeable and pointed out things to avoid. He also recommended I try the veggie fajitas from the menu. They were delicious. I have celiac and dairy intolerance and felt well-cared for at this restaurant. I would definitely go back!
They have a "gluten free ish" menu that includes enchiladas... Ordered the enchiladas off the gluten free ish menu and mid making our table side guacamole the waitress says "oh yeah, the enchiladas are pre rolled in flour tortillas, is that going to be a problem?" SCARY! Thank god she caught it.
This is absolutely NOT Celiac friendly!!! I was assured by the waitress that they would take precautions to not cross-contaminate. I am a very sensitive celiac. I have a handful of places I can go. Unfortunately there is only one way for me to find out if I can go there or not. The food was good...nothing to rave about. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive.
Yes, this place is packed with tourists since it's right at the rivertour stop, but I LOVE the Pollo Flameado here. The guac is to die for. We always take huge parties of our out of town guests (wild, crazy kids and all) and out of the bazillion times I've been there, they have only messed up once on gluten free (they brought a chocolate dessert in a pastry shell, which I immediately noticed and sent back and the server apologized). Recently, their gluten free menu has become the "gluten free-ISH" menu, which kind of scared me, but I think they are just doing that to emphasize that you shouldn't sue them if you think you got sick there or something.
Has a "Gluten Sensitive" menu, with disclaimer about possible contamination due to shared fryer oil or flat top cooking surface. Spoke to manager (was very friendly, helpful, and attentive) and he recommended safest options were chips (all GF), apps, guacamole (was great!), soup without tortilla strips, salads, and enchiladas. Said to avoid grill items due to shared surfaces... Chicken enchiladas were delicious! But the service was very lacking... He forgot about us and our order took forever to come out, so that was disappointing. Side note: fajitas were just ok (not GF). I'm not totally convinced that it was Celiac Friendly, but definitely made an effort! She doesn't have GI symptoms, so I can't really tell if she was glutened.
the food was delicious. the only issue that I had was once when I asked for more tortillas they brought me flour not corn so I would double check when you get them. but the corn tortillas are some of the best that I have had. one other thing when you come please don't be in a hurry, service was a bit slow.
I came with a larger group but split up amongst a few tables. We had the queso and guacamole to start which were great but it was very slow being brought out. The guacamole was made table side. I ordered the chicken enchiladas which were delicious but the ranchero beans were not my thing. Our waitress forgot a few things along the way so I'm wondering if it was just an off day.
