No gluten free beer… would be nice to have a beer with the rest of my party. Had to have a tequila and soda. The menu had GF food options marked, but we only went for drinks and football before a concert.
The staff was exceptionally well prepared with knowledge about gluten sensitivities. The front hostesses let me know that they considered themselves capable of being gluten friendly but exclusively celiac safe because they couldn’t be sure they were 100% cross contamination free. The waiter knew immediately that the fryer wasn’t dedicated, and knew which sauces had gluten. He was thorough and asked a lot of questions.
The bangers (sausage) had gluten and so did the onion sauce, so I went with a pub burger on a GF bun with a non fried side. The pub sauce has soy sauce so the waiter told me and we had it prepared without it.
service- a plus. Food- super tasty. Been a few hours and no issues. Get a cocktail and enjoy yourself!
They do offer GF buns for replacement on sandwiches, however my first sandwich was on an obviously gluten filled ciabatta and when they replaced it they only took the chicken off of that sandwich (btw, if I was celiac that would have been a huge problem) and the put it on a sandwich that had a GF top & a pretzel bottom. To make matters worse, the Turkey burger a friend ordered arrived pink. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this restaurant to anyone who is celiac. Even if they do get your order right, the cross-contamination would be a worry.
Menu is clearly marked. My daughter had a gluten free pizza and I had their sesame salad without salmon. There are good options here for those who are both gluten-free and vegetarian or vegan. In a restaurant like this, I feel there’s always the risk of cross contamination however neither of us were sick and the food and service were good.
Overall, definitely did not feel safe as I felt the restaurant was not familiar with what cross-contamination was. Menu marked very inconsistently on what is safe (normal fries are not gluten free but fries with truffle oil are?). When served, waitress said that the hummus was gluten free, but it was on a plate surrounded by gluten bread touching it. Luckily the staff were kind with me having to emphasize many times that I have a severe allergy and I was lucky to not get sick from the salad I chose to be safe.
I ordered the grilled chicken w/ rice & veggies option that was marked gluten free on the main menu. I mentioned my allergy to the waitress, who said she would pass that along to the chef. Shortly after eating, I felt very sick. The taste of the food was okay, but I would not recommend eating here if you are sensitive to cross contamination. :(
