Not a bad place. Was happy to see gluten free items clearly marked on the menu, and the staff seemed knowledgeable (the server indicated that the fryer was shared and that I couldn’t have the fries, but recommended the pan-fried potatoes instead!).
Prices were typical - $7 for a GF cider and $17 for a pulled pork sandwich on a GF roll (no up charge for the bun!).
I will say that it was busy for a Tuesday night, so I had to sit at the bar if I didn’t want to wait. It’s a great bar place if you’re into that (busy/loud as you’d expect). The food came out hot and in a reasonable time as well. The potatoes were great, but I found the sandwich to be less flavorful (though I’m happy there was the option and felt safe).
One downside was the need to have my car valet parked. The place is next to a Hilton Garden Inn with ample parking, but I guess the parking is wholly reserved for the hotel? The valet was kind - you just have to be prepared to tip (or pay to park across the street in the garage).
Gluten free items were labeled “G/F” on the menu. I ordered the Smoked Dry Rub Chicken Wings and Lettuce Wraps from the Appetizers menu. Our witty and friendly server let me know the wings were not going to be crispy since they were going to be baked instead of fried to keep them gluten free. My order was brought to the table separately from the rest of my family’s order (I’m the only celiac) by another server with the allergen stick/marker in place. The food was prettily presented (I was so excited, I forgot to take a picture, lol). The wings had a NICE heat kick. The lettuce wrap veggies were nice and crisp, the ground turkey perfectly spiced with a little heat. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal.
Went there for dinner last night. Got the chimichurra chicken sandwich. I was a little hesitant because they toasted the bun, but I didn’t seem to have any reactions. I also got a side salad, though I didn’t have the same service as other reviews, where they were told it was a shared fryer. I felt the surfer was more concerned about my husband’s mushroom allergy over my gluten allergy. I had to tell her it was an allergy, she didn’t ask. I only got the side salad because of what I saw on here.
I called ahead and was told they take gluten and CC seriously. The food I got sounded delicious but fell short on taste. My daughter got an overcooked burger. The bread was dry and crumbly. I'm not too confident the server knew what gluten even was, which made me incredibly nervous, but she was kind of spacey in general. Fryer is shared, so no fries for us. They have items clearly marked. We didn't have a reaction, so they did something right. Safe? I think so. Would I go back next time I'm in R.I? No.
Great options. Delicious GF buns. They no longer have a separate fryer for French fries but that’s ok, all the food was great. Shaved prime rib sandwich was amazing! Trendy loft like atmosphere. You’re missing out if you don’t try this place while in the area.
Quite a few options that are gluten-free, and they have an extensive gluten free menu. Waiter made sure that the kitchen knew of my allergy. I'd suggest the steak frites! Yum truffle fries!
