I’ve eaten here multiple times without having issues, and I am quite sensitive. They continue to confirm that they have a dedicated fryer for all types of fries - regular and sweet potato. They once made a mistake with the GF bun on my burger, but the runner noticed before bringing it to the table and had them remake it right away (not just trying to swap out the bun). I had to wait 10 mins for a new sandwich, but they gave me fries to nibble, and I could tell they were remaking the whole thing, not just slapping a GF bun on the cross-contacted burger in order to be done. It was nice that they noticed their own mistake and just took care of it. Overall it seems like the management takes celiac seriously and trains the staff well.
Safe chain with several GF options. Our son enjoyed his burger on GF bun and fries from designated fryer. Our daughter enjoyed GF chicken bowl. Our server was kind and knowledgeable, lunch was delicious and safe. We appreciate simple efforts to include patrons with celiac. Thank you Islands!
The gf menu is very limited. Example: Even the guacamole has gluten in it (they checked). I'm only giving them 2 stars because the food wasn't great (Red Robin is better) and the service was crappy (got all 3 of our orders wrong), plus they charged us double for an entree we only ordered 1 of.
A friend recommend checking out Islands after she ate successfully off the gluten free menu. We have been multiple times now and my very sensitive Celiac daughter has eaten there without getting sick. They have a dedicated fryer for fries and a nice selection of items on their gluten free menu.
I ordered a salad with grilled chicken (marked GF). When it arrived, the chicken looked different than “safe” grilled chicken usually does. Often, restaurants will dust the chicken or pan with flour to get additional browning & crispiness on grilled chicken. I triple-checked with our server & was told that it was gluten free, including that the celiac note I’d requested. I was wary but had a few bites of the after they repeatedly reassured me. Unfortunately, I definitely was glutened :(
Server confirmed they have separate fryers for their French fries and are not cooked in the same oil as the onion rings, fish, and breaded chicken. Beef patties are cooked on their own grill top. We requested a GF bun. However, they mentioned buns are cooked on the same grill top. We opted to get the GF bun off the grill due to celiac.
Their French fries are made in a dedicated gf fryer!! It’s the little things.
Decent burgers, can choose a gf bun or wrap in lettuce. And fries!
I want to try the tacos some time. Will still get fries.
Their gf alcoholic drink selection is a bit wanting. Wine or hard mixed drinks - no seltzers or ciders. But they have gf fries, and that goes a long way.
Did I mention that they have safe fries? They have fries!
