My mom asked if the barbecue sauce for the ribs was gf and our server said he would check. He never came back to inform us otherwise so we figured it was ok. The he shows up to serve our food and there was no sauce on hers. They were very dry without sauce. She would have ordered something else if she would’ve been notified of this prior to being served. So I guess in essence I’m complaining about the servers lack of care and service level.

Waitress only mentioned one item when asked about gluten free menu options. When asked later if there were additional options, she wasn’t knowledgeable about gluten free items at all. Food was ok at best. Wouldn’t recommend.

I visited with my wife, brother, and sister-in-law. I am the only one who has to do gluten-free (celiac). The staff were very knowledgeable about the food and how to do gluten-free preparation. Much of the menu is fresh meat and produce (fish and seafood!) so it didn’t seem too complicated to add GF preparation. Our server was thorough enough to ask the bartender whether there was gluten in some of their cocktails, which I appreciated. Overall, a good experience, and with no reaction afterward.

Really good vibe and good food.
I had a few apps, salad and fresh catch of the day. Souces were delicious. Staff very knowledgeable and accommodating.

I felt very safe here and they said they take precautions for cross contamination. I got a Cesar salad with grilled chicken on it, potatoes, the tartar, and edamame. I didn’t feel or get sick and the food was amazing.

Excellent service and willingness to verify questions with the kitchen. I’m very confident in the information I got and her concern to care for me needs. One of the best meals in my lifetime.

I am celiac and very sensitive to contamination so I come here whenever I’m on the island for a special, delicious and safe meal. The menu is not marked with GF choices but not to worry - the wait staff is very knowledgeable and the kitchen is very careful. Go and enjoy your dinner and a cocktail if you like.

Had the chef's special; pan fried tuna steak, rice, spinach, eggplant with raspberry vinaigrette dipping sauce for the fish. Was amazing. Specially made gluten free, very knowledgeable.

The staff was very knowledgeable about celiac disease and had several entrees for me to select from. Food was excellent. I'm usually very sensitive to cross contamination, and I didn't feel anything at all after eating here so they did a great job.

We had two Celiac's in our group - my son who is six and my sister. The server was very knowledgeable about the gluten free options. My sister has surf and turf, she said it was excellent. No gluten free kids menu so we settled on a burger no bun. They also have chicken and rice in there kids menu, but my kiddo is not a big rice fan. No contamination for either.

I cannot recommend this place enough. I got the seafood trio, substitute crab cake for extra fish. The server was very accommodating when I told her I had celiac. This place definitely is in my top 10 all-time dinner places. It was a special night for my wife's birthday and it lived up to the hype. PS I didn't get sick yay.
Outstanding food, but it does come at a price. It was ~$30 for a big pork chop, but the taste was unbelievable.
Yes
I am both celiac and dairy free. I was able to order the fish of the day with a substitution of rice for the potatoes. The presentation and taste was great. I also had the strawberry liliko’i sorbet which was a lovely way to finish the meal.

I explained I was gluten free and dairy free and they absolutely took care of me. Excellent chef. Excellent staff!

Since every meal is made fresh they were easily able to accommodate me and all my food allergies. (Gluten, milk, eggs, soy) The waiter was well informed and very patient. It was the best meal I've had in a long time!
Yes
This is not a taco joint and more like $$$ or $$$$. They take reservations and seem to expect them although they took us as walk-ins. Food was good, only two options for celiacs and fryer is not gf. Tasty, but not what we were looking for and more expensive. Cute place, nice atmosphere.
Yes
My celiac daughter ordered grilled chicken with veggies and rice from the kids menu. The sauce was delicious and they said it was gluten free. She didn't have a reaction. She really wants to go back few more times!
No GF menu but almost everything can be made GF with some substitutions. However, I also eat dairy-free and told my server about it, got assurances that my food was dairy-free, but found out later from a different server that what I had gotten was definitely not DF. They did get the GF part right, though.
Server very knowledgeable and helpful. Wide variety of options available. Food was very good. Service 3xcellent. Would definitely eat there again.

Zero stars this place has awful food. Dry over cooked. Bad service. Server rattled off a list of what we could eat so fast I couldn't even keep track. Incredibly overpriced. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.
No
No separate GF menu but the server had a list of items that could be prepared safely that included how dishes would need to be altered (which I appreciate). Had the spicy tuna appetizer, which was awesome! Had the special market fish, prepared 2 ways. The fish was overcooked in one, the other was good. A bit pricey. But the meal was definitely safe, no cross-contamination. Feels like a gift when I can critique the quality of the food, and not just safety.

I called ahead and spoke to the manager before making reservations. Ann was knowledgable and helpful, and the the wait staff was as well. There is no gluten free menu, but they are prepared and can let you know what meals are or can be made gluten free. They told us not to order anything fried as there's no separate fryer. Our meals were great!
Yes
Great food and very knowledgeable staff. I had the fresh catch of the day with shrimp and scallops and purple potatoes plus their signature mai tai and the Lime in the Coconut cocktail. They even brought me some hummus and veggies to snack on while my SO had the free bread. Really awesome place!

What an amazing experience! The staff was very knowledgable and celiac and GF. They prepared everything separate for us :) Thank you Clara and Jess as well as the whole kitchen staff!
Yes
Jess an Clara at the bar are beyond phenomenal in helping celiacs eat here! The fresh fish is beyond words!! Great Mai Tais, great staff, and atmosphere! We come back every time we are in Kona! Worth every penny!

Delicious food! Gluten free friendly!
As other reviewers noted, the menu does not have marked GF items. However, when I spoke to our server, he was very knowledgeable about which items could be made GF. I was impressed that he even considered hidden gluten sources such as sauces or flour dusting. The fish fillets, Scallops, burgers, chicken/fish tacos, and several of the salads could all be made gluten-free. We ended having the Angie's salad (substituted feta for blue cheese), which was outstanding. We also had the the only GF dessert (gelatos), which was heavenly. Very good service, too. We will definitely come back here this trip!
Yes
No GF menu, but our waitress was very knowledgable (although not very friendly...she seemed a bit annoyed explaining the GF options). With that being said, there were a lot of options, and I recommend it. I had the fish tacos, and they were delicious with zero reactions.

I agree with the previous posts about the extremely helpful and knowledgable staff Not only was the waiter extremely helpful to me regarding my multiple food allergies, they guided my diabetic mother- in-law regarding sugar free choices. The mochiko catch of the day was delicious, and they voluntarily substituted a green salad for sweet potatoes since I also needed dairy free. I highly recommend checking this place out.
No separate gluten free menu, but many of the items are already gluten free or can be made gluten free. Knowledgeable waitstaff and chef that are happy to help. They automatically served a side of their homemade hummus in place of the bread they normally serve without me even asking - nice touch! I had the Mochiko (Japanese rice flour) crusted Mahi-Mahi that was fresh caught today, served with a lime ginger & mild wasabi sauce, Molokai purple sweet potato and green beans. Almost too beautiful to eat, but very yummy! Highly recommended!
The server was very knowledgeable and the chef is able to specially prepare dishes to accommodate. The grilled fish tacos were spectacular and the blackened ono with Hawaiian mashed sweet potatoes were also just as spectacular.
